that doesn't even make sense. 14 years ago, the area was in Israel's control, it was handed to the Palestinians in 2006. if the supposed oil and gas were discovered 14 years ago, the land would've never been given away.
don't fool yourself. there is no oil in Gaza, except for what Israel gives Hamas (petrol mostly).

And if Israel actually could carpet bomb the Gaza Strip they would have done so already. The fact is they would be immediately hit with full Sanctions from most of the countries in the world and the Arab countries would wage asymmetrical warfare against the Israelites.
