IIRC - 'cracker' refers to cattlemen in Florida, and stems from the sound of their bullwhips. 'Hillbilly' is definitely Appalachian.

In reference to the arguments about this not being freedom of speech, it kind of is. A member of the US House of Reps introduced a bill earlier this year to not allow any trademarks on the term "redskins." If this were to gain traction and be approved, it would essentially limit the freedom of speech of any company/person who makes money off of a brand name.

Seriously, why is this coming up 80 years after the team was started? I really despise people who get offended for others who aren't even offended themselves.

They know their opinions don't actually matter as far as what is done, they'll still be treated like shit just like they always have been by the US.
