The Richest Man in Babylon - Awesome CD!!!

Aiight, I've mentioned Thievery Corporation before...but I must say their latest CD "The Richest Man in Babylon" is my favorite (I have them all.) These guys kick ass!

First of all, for those who don't know, the two guys behind the outfit (Rob Garza and Eric Hilton) are PIMPS! One of them is a former CIA agent! They got together in DC and opened up their own club (Eighteenth Street Lounge) as well as their own label (ESL Music.) This is the ultimate chill-out music...I can drive for hours with this playing.

Their previous CDs kept jumping between different styles (dub/reggae, 60s lounge, jazz, pr0n grooves, indo-asian etc.) Their latest CD is more cohesive and consistent. For those of you who like Air, K&D, Desmond Williams etc., I suggest y'all sample this one!

I didn't know they had a new album! Gotta pick it up...I wish you had posted this 2 days ago, I just placed a huge order at Half.com and I woulda thrown this in too. Oh well, goes on my list for the next big order.

Oh and this reminds me...my buddy still has my A&R and Mirror Conspiracy discs. Gotta get those back!

Yea it came out last Tuesday...pretty quiet release (or at least I wasn't paying attention.) I just bought a bunch of CDs off Amazon too...could've got it for $12.99 no shipping but NOOOO...I ended up paying $16.99 retail (on 'sale', no less.) Oh well, it was worth it!
