It's pretty interesting that the 1950X has been rated high on the US Amazon cpu best seller list- the couple of times I checked today. Currently it's number two behind the 7700K. I'm sure it's not going to be there for very long but I think it's a little surprising that a $1000 is there at all. https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/electronics/229189/ref=zg_b_bs_229189_1
Best sellers relative to what, though? Other $1000-range CPUs? That's be a no-brainer. Amazon kind of makes it up as it goes with those lists.

It's relative to all cpus they sell, updated hourly. I'm not implying that it will be there for any length of time, but as I said I think it's at least a little surprising for it to be there at all.

While the Amazon Best Sellers list is a good indicator of how well a product is selling overall, it doesn't always indicate how well an item is selling among other similar items. Category and subcategory best seller lists were created to highlight an item's rank in the categories or subcategories where it really stands out.

We choose a few of the most popular subcategories in which the item has a high ranking in relation to other items in that subcategory, and showcase the item's rank on the product page. As with the main Amazon Best Sellers list, these category rankings are based on Amazon.com sales and are updated hourly.

Pretty sure that verbage gives them lots of wiggle room. While it's nice to see Threadripper on there, it's not really indicative of much.

I would take their explanation to mean that category and subcategory correspond to such things as "computer components" and "cpu processors", respectively. Therefore you shouldn't try to compare sales of such things as motherboards versus cpus, which Amazon has a list for each. Cpu vs cpu would be the area (subcategory) where sales rankings are comparable.

Anyway I'm sure you are correct there is wiggle room involved. My interest was that a very expensive cpu managed to sell very well, albeit probably for a short duration.

According to JayzTwoCents latest video, EK will have waterblocks ready on day 1. Not sure about monoblocks but at the minimum CPU blocks will be available. Good news for us watercooling folks

And my heart grew three times today! Most likely, though, is bigger blocks with an adapter base. But a mono is really what I want...

Same here. I always prefer monoblocks where possible due to the looks.
According to this article it seems like the Zenith will support monoblocks but I'm not sure about dropping $550 just on a board.

Taken from the article:
"Our ROG models also have headers for monitoring coolant flow and temperatures, and the Zenith Extreme boasts an extra one reserved for custom monoblocks."

Here's an unboxing of the Asus Zenith Extreme Board with a demonstration of installing a cpu. It's in German but interesting nonetheless.

Mono? As in Monoblock? Wow can we order it already? EK direct or do you have a website that you found this out on?
Yes Monoblock and I saw it on Reddit. Not 100% sure if the mono will be ready on the 10th but this board will be first one to have a mono built by them.
All Ek CPU blocks will be available on the 10th.
This is also the reason why I'm so drawn to the Zenith, it's pricey but has some crazy features and monoblock support

EK hasn't said, but EK puts the block for the Vega cards at the end of Aug., and those come out the 14th. So I've delayed my loop and will just use the TT water 3.0 ultimate I have until a selection arises.

Yeah Ek themselves haven't said anything so far except for a teaser message on Facebook. Jayztwocents said it would be ready day 1(CPU blocks) so I'm just going off his word. I'll just wait until they do release to buy as my 1080Ti is currently under water and I'm not redoing my loops as I have hardline tubing.

Going to pair two hot off the press links :
and my own analysis

Conclusion..
None of the AIO water cooling solutions being pushed with the product launch cover the dies sufficiently.
The center of mass of the cold plate is over dead air and up to 50-70% of the active die is left out of contact w/ the copper surface. This is absolutely bogus and unacceptable.

This is the very reason why Noctau designed custom contact interfaces to thread ripper (Because nothing on the markt covers the dies sufficiently) ... Right is ryzen .. left is threadripper. Per the spec, the the Noctau covers the full Heatspreader :

If an AIO water cooling solution with a circular base actually covers the active dies in a diagonal configuration, they have to be 51.9mm in the inner diameter. Nothing on the market is that diameter... I hear EK is making a custom interface for threadripper. This is what's needed for all the AIO watercoolers... It seems this is the only solution that was ready at launch which is why I was hoping AMD actually included a cooler themselves. They're trusting their flagship product in the hands of a bunch of cost cutting third party cooling companies. I shunned Noctau's poo colored fans but at least they engineer a spec'd product.
