First of all, I am one of these 'unfortunate' people; I understand.

This thread is for postive emotional, mental and technical support for all those who have received the samsuing 226BW 'A' panel, and have since found out from completely spurious 85 page threads in 'other' forums that apaprantly they own the 'inferior' version of the 226 BW.

Don't be disheartened, I have my 'A' panel and I'm proud of it! I flaunt it in my room for all to come and see! I'm 'A' and proud!

Don't let the smug, slightly superior tones of the 'S' panel owners cajole you into a sense of insecurity, dissapointment and inferiority; the 'A' panel is fine, just as good as the 'S', heck I reckon its better

Any smug 'S' owners who try to come here and cajole us will find us forthright and staunch in our defense of the infintely superior 'A' panel!

So all those who have been dissapointed by their arrival of the 'A' panel and who need the support of others like you, come bask in the warm glow of this threads support!

'A' forever

LOL.

The whole A vs. S thing is kinda retarded, since it's still a comparison between TNs.

Good TNs, sure, but good TNs are still inferior compared to S-PVA/P-MVA, & IPS panels...

According to the 'Other' forums with some good tweaking of the settings an A panel can look about 95% identical to the S panel.

I assume I have an "A". The sticker with the serial number says "rev:A0"

Is there somewhere I can read to get the best settings for this monitor?

Do you actually own that? My friend has one and I showed him the forum thread with the firmware flash, and he read through. He said they have to replace the board.

Yes I'm serious, made a big difference on my LCD and CRT.

It can't turn a TN into a IPS or MVA ,but it can make the colours balanced ,things like skin tones will look natural etc....a lot of LCDs and CRTs are poorly calibrated even ones that are not can still be improved using calibration tools like ColorVison Spyder2Express.

Yeah, I have Spyder2PRO and it's the ******.

mercanucaribe- Yes, you have to take it to a repair center to get the firmware. If you can't do it yourself. I linked everything necessary in the other thread you mentioned this. Getting a board changed out isn't a certain necessity. Anyway: overscan bypass / bit-perfect and awesome. Me? I'm waiting. My westy 37w3 is just fine for now.

I have the C version and it looks great when i first got it out it had a bluish feel to it but with a little tweaking I got the blue out and its gorgeous. Spyder2 is a great took to calibrate it too for me since I am partially color blind its hard to get the colors just right so the tool was perfect.

I am sorry but I did not follow this topic. How do you tell which you have? Where is it located? I see my serial # and then above I see the 226BW and then further down on the same line as the model is an "S" all by itself.

Now that the HP W2207 has come out & is cheap, it's time for you guys to sell your Samsungs & upgrade to the best 22" TN out there.

Or just pony up to the real deal, the 24" panels or the 20" NEC WM20GX2/Acer AL2051W

How do you figure "vastly" superior? I just got a Spyder2, and it rectified the colors on my "C" version 226BW beyond my expectations. You can pick up the color profiles in the review I just posted on my site.

I know Pantone is a big name in the color industry, but show me what says this is such a better calibrator than the Spyder2. Or have you actually tried both yourself?
