Fresh out of high school I had a chance to train in industrial electronics.
Electronics, as one of my loves.
Signed up for a trade school course in the field, to see if electronics was what I really wanted to do for a living.
Which it turned out not to be the case.
As a hobby, fine. As a living, no thanks. Took all the fun out of my hobby.

But while attending the course, we had the chance to pick five industrial electronic related businesses to work onsite or on the job training, for one week each pick.

For one pick I chose to work in a hospital.
So naturally, the current hospital project was re-wiring and updating the hospital morgue.
Yes, for one full week I got to work in the morgue with the hospital technicians.
Blood everywhere, autopsy tables covered with blood, and jars of body parts.
Tons of large glass jars on shelves containing all mention of body parts.
And a large chalk board in the room listing body organs and their weight from the last autopsy.
Heart = 3#'s. Brain = 5#'s. Liver = 6 #'s. Good grief....

Luckily, no autopsies were actually conducted while we were working in the room(s).
We were only to work in rooms where no live autopsy was currently conducted.
But that experience? A real-life horror story.
And I swore, those eyes in the jars on the shelves were following me.

Remind me sometime to also tell the time we were making a horror film and needed a coffin. And were given one the hard way.

Uh, there is no time the ASVAB is "usually" taken. The ASVAB is taken whenever someone is interested in enlisting in the military. And the reference group used for scoring is made up entirely of 18-23 year old Americans. Congratulations, you're a fucking retard again.

I also don't get someone claiming they scored as good as I have on a test I took in High School when they took the same test after 7 years of college.

I've had two jobs that were occasionally scary, both on the water. The first was on a 180' three-masted Barkentine. Her topgallant yards were 100' off the deck, and we had to go up there when it was blowing, and the ship was pitching and rolling, and it was dark and you couldn't see shit.

The second was on a 70' tug pushing barges up and down the east coast. Routinely had to jump from the tug's second deck to the barge and back, and often had to navigate the outer walkway of the barge in the dark, in seas, with just a slippery handrail to hold onto and the whole rig making twelve knots.

I've raked asphalt with cars passing within 3 feet (sometimes less) of me going by at 55 MPH. Had an ax murderer try to truck jack me. Both on the same job.

Most of my awards or commendations from the military say: "in a high threat European environment". (I had the Fulda Gap during part of the cold war). Luckily there was no real fighting.
