I spose I am happy, I mean, I got a gf , get to see her once a week since shes lives about an hour away by train, its been 4 years, on for 3, off for 1. I have decent groups of friends ( I?m 18 btw), I have fun, and I am in the final year of college and doing pretty well. But sometimes I feel so dry, like I am running on empty??

You're 18 and in the final year of college? :Q Maybe you've been spending too much time hitting the books and not enough time acting your age literally and figuratively.

seriously.....me thinks your gonna regret wasting your youth in the library when your 80

this man speaks the truth

everyday is unique. you don't get up/go to sleep at the same time. you don't have the same conversations with people, different shows on tv. another day to learn something different. different foods to eat. even if they days are similar, there are things you should look forward to seeing. for example, i love waking up to the sounds of bird chirping in the morning. not everyday i get to hear them, but when i do, i feel refreshed sounds cheesy, but that's just me.

I hope people don?t think I am making a fuss and I am glad for all the replies so far.

I feel so bad sometimes I?m glad its night, because I get to spend 7-8 hours in bed, although it seems like 5 minutes, I got quite a number of friends but I doubt there this deep or would understand If I opened my mouth. Some ppl say I m too harsh on myself but I really cant see how, I see some ppl @ my part time work/college who couldn?t give a f&ck about anything, so laid back and I envy them, hell I?d turn back to god If I knew I?d feel better.

True happiness can only be attained with the absence of wants and needs.

it's not the only way. the idea behind finding god is that you're being passionate about something. find something you can be passionate about and stick with it until you find something else. try mountain biking and join a club. ask your local bike shop about it.

set small, reachable goals and work to acheive them. this gives you direction and satisfaction when you meet them.

enjoy the small things...

be thankful for what you have, its very easy to forget, or to dwell on what you want or have lost.

plan for the future, but live for the present

dont dwell on the future - no matter what you do, its ultimately indeterminant. if you plan on it being happy, you will get disappointed. if you expect it to be depressing, it definitely will be.

dont dwell on things you cant control or the past, the sooner you get over this stuff, the sooner you can enjoy life (and nothing you can do can change it anyways)

happiness is a state of mind and comes from within. if you look for happiness in other people you will never find it.

Brigden....EXACTLY what I was going to say. This right here IS the key to happiness. Write it down, put it on your wall.

happiness is a state of mind and comes from within

I thought I was going to be the starting center fielder for the Boston Red Socks. Life sucks, get a fvcking helmet, allright?! "I'm not happy. I'm not happy." Nobody's happy, ok!? Happiness comes in small doses folks. It's a cigarette, or a chocolate cookie, or a five second orgasm. That's it, ok! You cum, you eat the cookie, you smoke the butt, you go to sleep, you get up in the morning and go to fvcking work, ok!? That is it! End of fvcking list! "I'm just not happy." Shut the fvck up, allright? That's the name of my new book, "Shut the Fvck Up, by Doctor Denis Leary.

Funny, and very true as well...

I constantly dream of reaching high goals, and 90% of the time, I take action, I try them and I fail miserably, just because it is really out of reach. But I ignore and try anyways.

enjoy the small things...

trying to do that.

be thankful for what you have, its very easy to forget, or to dwell on what you want or have lost.

like the first one, I always constantly try to reach my dream life.........not good idea.
plan for the future, but live for the present

trying to do that too.

i'm just so worred about my life, i'm in the transition stage, in between, graduating college and full-fledge adulthood, and the need to take care of my s/o.

conclusion: i'm sad

Money, lots of money.

With that, you buy fast cars, lots of toys, good booze and property.

You sneer at your old way of life. You become too good for your old friends. You buy new friends. Smoke good cigars, drink Single Malt JD on the rocks. Yet you still wash/wax your own cars...of which you now own like 23 of them.

Life fast, die happy. That is truly the secret of happiness.

The first step is realizing that NO ONE KNOWS the secret of happiness, and that billions of people have spent their whole lives looking for it, before giving up and deciding to be happy with what they have <-key

The second step is realizing that the secret varies from person to person

Lead the kind of life such that you can look in the mirror at the end of the day and be satisfied.

Know that success has little to do with what you earn, and a great deal with who you really are.
