i'll start with the bad news first...

last night my #1 cruncher went down indefinitely. i was in the process of cleaning up some virus crap and a system restart was required. unfortunately during that restart, the screen went black and stayed that way. not only will Windows not boot, but my system won't even POST. i don't think its virus-related in any way (despite having had a virus prior to restarting) - rather i think i may have corrupted the BIOS by hitting the reset button too many times consecutively (F8 doesn't bring up the boot menu on my mobo like it does on many others, and so i had to reset the system several times to look for how to get into safe mode before the POST text disappeared from the screen)...after about 4 or 5 resets within a 30-second period, the system would no longer POST. needless to say this is going to cripple my Milkyway@Home and SETI@Home output (this is my one host w/ a GPU right now) and greatly reduce my Einstein@Home, LHC@Home, and Test4Theory@Home output. i have no idea how soon i might have this host back up and running...

the good news is that i do not plan on diverting any resources away from the Correlizer project that runs on my other 6-core host. as much as it pains me to see my production go down dramatically in the projects i love most, i made a commitment to TA and the Correlizer project, and i don't intend to break it...not that my Correlizer production is critical (mine pales in comparison to some of the top Correlizer crunchers), but every little bit helps...so i'll see you guys on the other side of 10,000,000!

thatnks for the link...that could be a handy resource. but for $30, i'm probably better off putting the MSI 790FX-GD70 that's gathering dust in the corner to use - for $30 i could pick up a cheap GPU to run the display, have x16 bandwidth for one GPU cruncher (the HD 5870 i already have), and x8 bandwidth for another GPU cruncher (the GTX 560 Ti that should be here soon) that shares bandwidth with the display GPU...

Our production has now dropped below 100k but we are still outproducing SG by ~75k.

I have moved 12 cores to WCG but still have an AMD hex on Correlizer, if needed I will move these back!

10M here we come!

I'm just crunching correlizer and einstein@home now whenever seti runs out of WU's. Which means that I'm mostly crunching correlizer and einstein@home...

Oh, and my new 2500k should be waiting on my front door when I get home.

LOL...

i feel your pain...i typically only crunch S@H Astropulse (since it looks for more than just intelligent life), so i've hardly gotten to crunch much S@H at all lately...

fortunately i do it with my ATI GPU, so i can at least put it to work on Milkyway@Home or Collatz Conjecture when S@H is down or not producing AP work.

Up to 4.8 testing stability on the 2500k right now. So far so good, though I don't trust my mobo to go to 5.0. About to D/L some correlizer WU's, so far SETI, linx, and einstein have been good. Would have been up sooner but putting the OS + ssd cache on the same ssd is a lot harder than you'd think...

Apparently SG has decided to move on to a project with less resistance!

When/where is the next race?

I decided to move back everything into Correlizer since we are so close to the 10M!

The HCMD2 project at WCG changed priority and seems my targets are getting harder to get so I just want to focus everything here and then rejoin WCG and see what happens!:hmm:

The end result for science is good anyway!
