I added a 1035T-based box to the correlizer mix this weekend, as I picked up the cpu last week during newegg's sale. It was basically a drop-in cpu upgrade for an old X2 cpu, and in fact, it's using the X2's stock AMD cooler (my budget for a crunching is not very big I'm afraid). I'm not much of an OC-er, but I decided to give it a shot - I bumped the FSB to 240, and set the NB/HT multipliers down to 8, and ran the cpu at a modest 3.1ghz. It seemed to run stably, and I stressed it for about 1-2 hours. When everything seemed ok, I decided to stress it and do work at the same time, so I installed BOINC and let it run correlizer. It was going fine for about 3-4 hours, and coretemp and speedfan both showed the core temp to only be around low-mid 40s C. I went out to do some yard work, came back, and the box was just hung. Not sure what happened, but I restarted with the same settings and it booted into Windows fine, and temps all showed only mid 30's idle. Not wanting to take a chance, I backed the machine down to where it is now, just shy of 2.9ghz (220mhz FSB), and its been running correlizer overnight and today without issue. Without a better cooler, I don't think I can get it much past where it currently is. Anyone have any ideas? I'm guessing I would have to shell out for an aftermarket cooler to get it to reliably OC more?
