I am thinking of getting one, but that 200W PSU makes me a little nervous. I want to put in a Radeon 9800 Pro and a 3Ghz+ P4 or a Barton processor. I can handle the heat, I hope, but 200W seems a mite slim.
You might check out the new small-form-factor fourm here and the more established ones at www.sudhian.com to see if anyone is using a 9700 pro with one. Next best choice would be a mATX mobo and a mATX case that takes fullsize power supplies (like the cooler master 620 I got for a HTPC, but it's desktop not tower).
Lots of people have been running 9700's and 3.06's without problem. I dont think the 9800 will have a significantly higher poewr consumption than the 9700. Thing is, you can only fit two drives in the machine no matter what. Those are the biggest power suckers most of the time.
if I were you I would stay away from shuttles. the one I got was not only extremely noisy even after I put in a silent hd and silent fan, but also it's a lot more exasperating than you might think to work with such a cramped system
Over at Sudihan there have been a number of people who have problems with a 3.06 and 9700...it seems to be just too much for the PSU to handle. I don't know if it's an across-the-board problem or some isolated incidents, but you might want to do some digging around first. I was going to get a Shuttle SB51G, but now I'm going to wait until they put out an 800MHz fsb board. I hope by that time they will have increased the quality of the PSU.
