what kind of wierdness did you notice(artifacts/anomalies)? also your temps are fine, what program are you using to monitor them?

that's impressive that you got the core that high with only 1.2v, but you might be pushing it in terms of stability. i can get 650mhz on my 7900gt, but that's with a 1.4v mod, and it's not 100% stable.

The weirdness was some streched polygons appearing out of nowhere across the screen. Like they became part of the scene. It would only happen during a very specific part of that demo.. like in a window of 10 seconds. every other demo/game I played was fine.

I'm using rivatuner. i'm happy with the clocks now. really put some new life into my agp system.

Is there any reason you couldn't just solder a little wire jumper instead of using conductive ink?

You can do that. Some of us are just a bit spooked about soldering. And if the voltmod bricks your card, erasing the ink will leave little to no trace, whilst soldering would leave a very obvious trace that'd void any RMA possibility.

Soldering is definitely not possible. The solder doesn't stick to that little metal part. The other area where you have to solder to is also very small, and I'm definitely not that talented. Tried it, didn't work, ordered conductive pen...

Oh, I could just see this:
"Oh hey, lets try and solder the damn thing on and see if it works with the risk of burning up my card!! "

What about the fact that the conductive pen is just plain easier??? It's permanent enough.

What are you guys with 7900gs's getting for overclocks? Mine clocks to 580 @ 1.2v, 650 @ 1.4v, and 680 @ 1.5v. I'm probably going to give 1.55v a shot once I get my vf900 mounted since I really want to break 700. Hopefully with the vf900 ramsinks, I'll be able to do better than 800 for the ramchips.

Currently with stock heatsink, I noticed that nvidia autooverclocking is higher @ 1.4v than 1.5v. At 1.4, I get 612/802. At 1.5v, I'm only seeing 608/799

Soldering a small piece of wire to the +.1v AND +.2v points worked nicely for my 7950!

For those of you with 7950's...it works great! For those of you with the BFG 7950 that are too scared to do this, you can flash the bios from 1.25v to 1.35v...it works! That .1v allowed me to reach ~640mhz...wasn't enough for me though, so I did the mod

Final SUPER STABLE clock speed, 700mhz Core and 1680mhz Mem!!!
From 565/1430 to 700/1680 for free...I'm extremely happy, thanks for this thread!

6400 in 3dmark06 - amd x2 4200+ / 2gb

Im using zalman vf700 Wish I bought the vf900.

Hey all, i wanted to say this forum rules! I have been reading what everyone has to say for a while now. I finally decided to try the gpu volt mod. I picked up the pen from Radio Shack and did the 1.4v mod. I somehow managed 675 core with a 1.4. I ran 3dmark06, and ati tool and had no artifacts. Is it worth doing the mem mod? When my core is at 675?

Many say most of your gains come from your Mem, I did both so I can't say what the performance difference is using only one.
