That's why you need to get the children away from those people. When you leave them there, they grow up only knowing how to live on the dole. Take the kids away from the parents. The kids and society will be better off for it, and the parents will be rightfully punished.

Quite honestly, there are a great many couples out there who are more than capable of taking care of children through adoption or temporary foster care, but are unable to have any of their own.

While I do not like that the govt can take away children in such a fashion, it is certainly an option for parents who are incapable of taking care of their children while they get back in their feet (or choose not to permanently).

Once the children are taken due to lack of ability to support, there should be no recourse or chance for the parents to get the children back. The children should be placed with deserving adoptive parents that can afford to support them. The biological parents should never see their kids again. That way you might possibly create a deterrent effect when you broadcast their wailing and crying on TV, "They took my babies!"

GOTCHA.... We have a winner. You are TexasHiker. No doubt about it. You have used that exact line hundreds of times under that moniker!

Wrong again. But I do love that people are getting their panties in a bunch over my supposed previous history here.

How about this: you have my word that I was never a previous member here. I'm pretty certain the admins here have properly investigated my IP history and have concluded that I was never a banned member.
But if you want to keep thinking otherwise, please feel free to keep on keeping on

Secondly, it is an obvious response because progressives leave themselves wide open through their blatant hypocrisy of claiming to actually care for the welfare of children, as opposed to actually just caring to keep them perpetually on welfare...

As if this nation isn't full of kids raised through foster care rather than adoption.

Fantasize all you want, it won't change reality.

You assume that there's a job for everybody. That's obviously not true outside of right wing fantasy land.

You also assume that the couples you mention want to adopt children other than infants. That's also a false premise.

People in this country change careers all the time. I have made wood windows for about 5 years, Enrolled in the Army for 10 years, worked for an ammunition factory as a machine operator, fork lift driver and janitor, went to school for IT, worked as a programmer and now scan documents. You have to expect some changes in your work availability.

I don't have no compassion for a woman that had eight kids on the taxpayer's dime.

I don't have no compassion == I do have compassion

Please god let that be the case and not just more right wing illiteracy.....

If she had eight kids, sounds to me like somebody had a lot of compassion for her.

So do you have any real solutions, or is this just not a big enough problem to worry about?

Luckily not many people want to live in the shitty society that you describe there so that won't happen again.

If you think that people being cripplingly poor stops them having kids you need to crawl out from under the rock.

Edit: You should read "The road to Wigan pier" by Orwell.

I have news for you... When our society collapses there will be no bread lines for these people. There will be no WIC, No housing allowance, no heat, no food stamps.

"Don't feed the animals" is pretty much spot on. I'm all for my tax dollars enabling people to rise up out of poverty live as productive members of our society. However, I'm all for drawing the line at helping people who have no interest in being productive. Darwin was indeed on to something wasn't he?

????? If our society collapses, the middle class will be in the exact same boat as the welfare class...... we will all starve to death together. What's your point?

There are jobs for people who want them. There are better jobs for people who apply themselves. I have yet to see a situation where someone couldn't find some employment, even with a criminal record or no official residence.

In most cases, people will think that such work is below them or that welfare is just easier.

Name me an actual example where someone cannot find a job, any job.

Nonsense. I have adopted four older children myself. I know plenty who have also done so successfully. So no, it is not a false premise. There are plenty of people out there willing to do so. More often than not, it is the system that makes it increasingly difficult to do so depending on the area.

There are plenty of able couples that actually do not wish to raise younger children for a variety of reasons, but would prefer older school age children.

This is why the new founding fathers created the Purge.

Ok, so we have a couple , 'let them starve', and now, one 'state seizure of the children'. Will there be work camps to house the children in or will they simply be farmed out for adoption?

As I said... Darwin is on the side of many of us. Maybe me, maybe not, but I have no problem with that.
