Anyone remember the PMRC bullshit from the early 90's?

Its just funny how the words "parental rights" keeps cropping up in every shitty anti-freedom bullshit thing over the ages.

As a father, I try every day to ensure my kids know that I (and their mother) are there for them regardless of the nature of the challenges they face and that I hope and trust that they will come to me so we can work shoulder to shoulder to take on complex problems that seem too big for them to take on themselves.

Every time I see these Parental Rights parents and organizations, I always feel so sad for their kids, cause its never about helping the kids with their problems but rather about the parents avoiding their own. Indoctrination is just a dogwhistle for "I don't like the competition".

I recall reading somewhere that their funding is not even primarily from mothers, but rather they are funded by the usual suspects of right wing mega donors. I think they just use "moms" as a façade or vessel to get people to listen to their racist/myopic messaging. They pretend to be a group of moms going around advocating for things but its basically just another right wing PAC in disguise pretending like moms have all this power and influence.

Just for clarity and because I'm a nitpicker, SPLC didn't designate Moms for Liberty a hate group - not that I would have objected had they done so. They did designate them an extremist group, an anti-government extremist group.

Yeap - like I said, I'm not one to pass misinformation. I think I just said "hate group" as my wife has been screaming that for the past 2 years. When we were out protesting them being at our school board meetings etc "hate group" was thrown around a lot, so prob stuck in my head. They are the worst people.
