lol - Kasich wins one state, Cruz is a religionut, and Trump has won the rest. Yeah, big "stop trump" movement.

well, it needed to happen to have a chance of preventing Trump from getting enough delegates to force a brokered convention

If Trump is kept from the GOP nomination, and if Hillary ends up winning, I'm hoping both Trump and Bernie run as independents, we'd have a 4 way split that way and maybe we finally have a chance to burn down this 2-party oligarchy

You evidently are not really familiar with the election system in reality.

But that isn't a real surprise.

The whole point would be denying him enough delegates to be locked in for a nomination.

Trump Will not be the person nominated in a floor vote. If he fails to get the magic number he is not gonna get nominated. It will be establishment kasich. And he will lose to Clinton by a landslide.

I don't see it. The establishment will lose the next 10 elections after they betray the majority of the people. That's not to say another, reconstituted, party won't win elections, but the establishment will be destroyed. The people won't trust their candidates again.

They won't risk that.

I dont know why people keep saying the GOP would betray the majority of their party if they don't select Trump in a contested convention.

Trump does NOT HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR A MAJORITY of the party backing him. To date hes received roughly ~38% of all the votes in the GOP primaries and caucuses. The majority of GOP voters do NOT support him.

I think I heard Trump needs 60% of the rest of the delegates to secure the nomination. The likelihood of him securing the require number of delegates isn't a sure thing and if he doesn't the party has the obligation to contemplate who to nominate because he doesn't have and won't have a majority of support by the voters/party.

Dude the GOP have a choice... sacrifice the princess or let loose the kraken.

I don't envy them one bit!

You do realize that there isn't a single other person they can bring forward that gets anywhere near his 38% on a national basis?

The only reason why he has a "ceiling" is that the GOPe is using a splitter strategy to try and fend him off as much as they can. They are also holding out hope he trips and somebody can save them.

They don't let him roll through you'll not only lose the Presidency, but you'll have an uprising *FAR* worse than the teabaggers.

I guess it's a foregone conclusion Trump is going to get the most votes and delegates. At this point the GoP is banking on being able to reassign the nom to who they see fit through tricks and jerry rigged rules put in place to ensure the establishment always comes out on top. The race now is not to get more delegates than Trump but to ensure his certain majority isn't big enough to circumvent the built in party safety net.

Oh look mommy, another liberal media outlet spreading lies.

Oh look, another poster not really saying a damned thing.

If all you can do is post the word liberal and drool a bit, why post at all.

What are you hoping for with that? When no one gets 270 electoral votes, the vote falls immediately to the House of Representatives, where each state gets one vote to cast for one of the top 3 candidates (where the state consensus is determined by majority of the representatives).

And that's gerrymandered to hell because of Karl Rove.

That's even out in the twilight zone of what I was aware of, honestly.

It really could feasibly be an even odder election cycle.

Well this isn't looking too good..

Trump hits turbulence with immigration hard-liners

The candidate of “build that wall” is suddenly having a hard time with one constituency that was fully in his camp: immigration hard-liners.

Alarms went off after Donald Trump openly declared at a GOP debate in Detroit earlier this month that he was changing his position on high-skilled foreign workers, seemingly undermining a key plank of his restrictive immigration platform. Then came a stream of news reports showing how Trump used the same guest-worker programs he now criticizes.

But, it's winner take all now, isn't it? Trump merely has to get 1% more than the other two in a state, and he gets ALL the delegates. Didn't he just get 75% of the states today, including the one with 99 delegates? The GOP is screwed. And, I think, our country is screwed, given such a large number of people who are siding with Trump.

You're dam right. 'Murica DrP. You can keep voting in establishment puppets but we've seen the light and are willing to roll the dice on someone who isn't one.

The GOP will rally around Donald, eventually. All of them.
Trump will be their dirty little secret.
As Trump crosses the finish line, all republicans need to do is ask their own, "DO YOU WANT HILLARY TO PICK THE NEXT US SUPREME COURT JUSTICE? POSSIBLY THREE JUSTICES?".
"DO YOU WANT HILLARY TO TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS?"
"DO YOU WANT HILLARY TO TAKE AWAY YOUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS?"

That is all it will take, a few questions to the base, to get that base to rally around Donald.
Republicans will continue to claim Donald can not and will never pull this win off.
Right up to the very day Donald indeed pulls this win off.

The big unknown is, in the privacy of the voting booth will those silent majority republicans actually vote Trump?
Or hold their nose and vote Hillary?

God, I wish Donald had won Ohio tonight, just to bring this train wreck to an end.
Now we'll have weeks, months ahead of further republican crap to put up with.
Months of listening to Ted Cruz's big mouth, who's whiny screeching voice reminds me of some evil Disney cartoon character.
And forced to listen to Kruchnick (whatever his name. who really even cares) go on and on how he can win by not wining.
And the debates.... God, more of those awful republican debates ahead.

Want to know the most scariest thing that might make one jump off a bridge?
We have to go thru this whole thing all over again in just four short years.
Thats right, just 4 years and we do this all over again. From scratch.
Like the wicked witch of the west, I can feel my brain melting...melting...melting.......
Shit. I need a drink.

The hilarious thing is you think you're "rolling the dice". You're actually playing russian roulette with a round in every chamber. The only certain thing is how hilarious the outcome will be. Hilarious and sad.

Yes, hillaryous and sad if hillary wins. We already know how it will turn out under her. #giveTrumpachance
