The show was horribly frustrating and characters lacked complete common sense but we all watched it because vampires ::$

Some of the characters are dumb at times, but the only real complaint I remember from the first season was the CG for The Master. Otherwise, its good enough. It would be better if the CDC guys went away, and it was just the old dude, hacker chick and rat catcher vs vamps.

I want to believe this will get better.. I really really do.. not sure why I do. I love Guillermo Del Toro. I think he normally puts visually interesting stuff on screen, but this show was a total failure. I'll check out the first few EPs of season two, but if it continues the shit show I'll drop. Here's hoping this "wonderous transformation" the master is going through means no more bad muppet fingers.

This show is so cheesy(but like the story) and the master looks like a Jim Henson puppet, I literally lol'd when they first showed him. The vampire hit squad is so corny but I like the show. It hasnt reached Under The Dome or Falling Skies level bad yet so I wont get watching as of now

Don't forget The Last Ship. Can't wait for that to start again. I'm only on season three of Falling Skies. LOL Hell, I have to catch up on Sleepy Hollow.

Ahh.. excellent, Summer TV season is kicking into gear, and there is more awesomeness to come yet (Fear the Walking Dead).

Usually this was a bad TV season, but with recent shows like Humans and Mr. Robot, Summer is officially becoming a good TV season.

Hmm... What is with the scene where he said, "we better get out of here, they are hungry..." then they stay and watch?

His kid has got to go, he was an idiot last season, and is a bigger idiot this season.

At least they got better at shooting, and we now know where the cane sword came from (since we really needed to know that!) and the current 'master's' origin.

So, this episode was better than last seasons 1st episode.

I think they only began monitoring him once he had injured the 7th.

Also... dammit what the hell, this season's kid replacement is even more annoying than last season's kid.

That said, it does appear like this season has far much more awesomeness in store, but that doesn't mean everything, of course; hopefully it is done well.

So there are seven ancients/originals?. Does that mean this seventh one wasn't part of the group or did he break away some time later?

And he does some sort of mass transfusion of all his worms to a new body to transfer himself over?

And for the wife getting the awakening, assuming this means all infected by one of the originals belong to that one at all times and they can freely upgrade/downgrade as they please.

Speaking of which, that scene with the worm vomit by far the worse visual I can recall.

And it was darn convenient that they decide they need a lightly infected host to start trials, and bam what's behind storage locker door number two!

Yeah, I was hoping they'd find a way to write the kid out, and now they replaced him with an ahole. And I dont say that about kid actors often, but he just looks and acts like a ahole.

He seemed to soften up toward the end of the episode, so maybe he won't be a total asshole the whole season, but he just seems like a nasty little bully while the other kid was at least normal, though a little whiny.

I was thinking of posting that pic, it looks like the master had a sac of those close to his chin.

Same as previous comments, god just kill that fucking kid already. Like I'm talking to you Dad, kill that little shit.

The worm transfer thing was kind dumb, seemed like he was vomiting WAY too long and then it just looked like a looped gif of worms coming from his mouth.

Main question I have is, isn't the city in a WAY more chaotic state with all these vampires running around now? Seems like business as usual for the masses. I.e. Anyone with half a brain would be half a continent over by now.

The whole arrangement of the blind kids was cringe worthy as well, like here is this nice little package to get us to this point.

I dunno, a kid being emotional, naive, and outright dumb in a situation like that is actually realistic. You may hate the character - but if you had a kid that age and were in that situation, you may very well hate your son just as much.

I think it's a decent plot device that helps fulfill the "best laid plans..." theme, because something can always fuck up your plans.

It was one the best parts of Blade 2...but this aint Blade! lol I think the problem with the hit squad is the same problem with The Master...the mask just looks goofy. They should have went with human looking vampires.

And Super Wrestling Vampire Boss Fight was the best part of Blade 2.
