What I don't get is, how is the infected vamp going to do shit. If the master knows what it knows, won't he just command it to jump off a building or some shit and NOT infect anything...

Also, isn't Setrakian Jewish? Wouldn't that mean he DOESN'T believe in the concept of Hell?

He could command the infected one to do something to prevent spreading an infection. Or, what I think is more likely, there won't be any spread whatsoever, because I bet there aren't any pathogens escaping during respiration due to physiology being so radically different. They could do just about anything for this part of the story.

As for the Jewish part, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. These beasts don't represent hell; in terms of the religious aspect of their history, it really only represents fallen angels - which I am pretty sure exists in all branches of Abrahamic religions.

Correct. Only in the book Setrakian doesn't do anything like that. The Master DOES use his blood to prolong the lives of a few humans though at various points in the story.

The blood is technically the blood of an angel and can grant immortality while being taken. The worms are the infection of the blood of the angel Azreal. The Master uses his blood to keep Zach alive and the healthiest human on the planet post the final take over he does. The blood even without the worms isn't pure though and contains a small amount of taint. Which is part of what really turns Zach into a major asshole later. More so than now.

But basically taking a small amount of the blood will grant a bit of health and added vigor to your life for a short period of time as well as force your body to heal rapidly.

Can you please make sure to tag any book spoilers? I ended up reading some of this as while you mention the books being different you don't mention what you're posting is from the books. Thanks!

It has to do with Setrakian being Jewish and specifically stating if his actions (using the boiled worms to stay healthy) would send him to Hell, he accepts it. That isn't something a Jew would say. Unless, he converted to Christianity sometime after the Holocaust, it just doesn't line up with this character.

And, the pathogen thing is just stupid, especially if they are doing it in such a way the master would see it. Either he knows (which he should) and averts it, or he doesn't know (which is stupid) and it works.

Which is silly. Nothing "just aired". It has been days. I understand not everyone having the time to watch the show Sunday at airing, but if it is Monday and the content in your post was aired, no spoilers are required. There is no reason to not simply avoid the thread if you aren't up to date on the currently aired content.

Nothing spoiler tagged should be considered show material, unless someone, somehow was on set during filming or saw a pre release of the episode. You are better off just taking all spoiler tags as book spoilers.

They tried to make the annoying brat a bit saner this episode, but it didn't work, he is just as annoying as he always was, and oh, he should just be throwing knives, forget the bat.

The wrestling guy, 'angel', what was the point, they spent the first 7 mins with him being against vamps in some movie, then when confronted, he says it isn't him?

The Silver Angel is the stage name for the broken down mexican wrestler that Augustin Elizalde used to look up to as a kid. He is a luche dora wrestler that did a lot of cheesy vampire killing films too in his past. To the overall grand scheme of things he doesn't matter to much except he does help the "team" in figuring out what kills the Master vamps before he dies. Yes he dies and dies soon before all the bombs go off. He dies to save the others. So he's on of those filler martyr characters. Problem is he is borderline too much back story for the character. It's the kind of character that the author puts in a bit of extra backstory to make you the reader/watcher really feel bad about when he dies. Problem is I couldn't relate to the character at all. So he felt like every other soon to be dead character the writer introduced.

The backstory is what is odd, they spent way too much time on that, I was expecting him to be the one that trained the vamp squad, and thus, he could train another...

Ahh well.

If they could be infected in a manner that is not immediately known to the master, they could infect the nest. But even that is iffy.

The problem with the virus seems to be that it has to be injected directly. Maybe they can inoculate all of the humans so that the vamps have no idea who to bite. After all, they developed it to not hurt normal humans so that should work.

I agree with most posters here that I have little patience for prepubescent drama, given some of the spoilers I've seen, I think that will eventually pay off, regardless of how cringe worthy it is now. Sometimes you just have to have faith in the writers. More often than not I think they disappoint us, but given how closely things seem to be following the books, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I really liked the scenes where ratboy and the hacker chick were showing the police the ropes. It wasn't hilarious stuff but I definitely chuckled a few times.

And I like that the warrior vamps seem to be back in the action. A little disappointed that it was only one, but I'm sure he's a super badass.

OK, so we got a new master, since the old one was too damaged, or, perhaps he does that to throw people off his trail?
However, what exactly is the master anyway?
He barfs up all those white worms at the new host, so, the master's DNA is transferred somehow like that, but not with the stinger thing they usually use to transform people?

I was shocked the kid didn't run for him mom.
I wasn't shocked that they fired at the mom 13 times, and all missed.
