So the important entity is the worm. I wonder if any of that is in the Lumen.

The worm IS the actual vampire. The body is just the host that the worm manipulates to it's own end. There is a larger "mass" of worms that forms each master or ancient vampire and that is basically the conscience intelligence. The body is just dead meat shortly after the worm invades and drains it of blood. Offshoots of worms from the main mass aren't the same conscience entity but are controlled by the main mass like a hive mind through telepathy.

Come to think of it, the worm didn't go down a sewer, that was a drain pipe, since there was water all around.
That means the master would basically be stuck there.
Also, why would the master only bring a handful of people to be his backup? He literally has tens of thousands of them, and they could have been signaled to come once he sent the poorly hidden vamp-kid after him.

Sigh. How the heck did he (Gus) NOT get infected by his mom? She spit juices all over the place where he was at.
Double sigh on trying to get her out of the building.
Triple sigh on letting mom loose on them.

Quadruple sigh on the whole Master fight scene.
If they only told the others about their plan... and the worm escapes.

Gus doesn't get infected because the Master doesn't want it. Might be a bit of a cop out, but i'm 99.9999999% sure that's what it is. If it was a virus that the Master didn't control, anyone taking the white directly from him would be infected.

Disappointing open to the season. Characters are becoming caricatures of themselves. Setractian was always the mystical monk/curmudgeon but now they've dialed that up a couple of notches. Ephraim is becoming more and more the possessed lone scientist haunted by his demons. Even the Ancient's character seems to have been amplified somehow with the way he talked to the other head vampires. I'm really not optimistic about this season.

I like most of what Guillermo del Toro has done but I think he's slipping with this season. I guess we'll see.

Does del Toro have much to do with this show past the original books? I got the impression that he was hands off this show.

I would have thought they would be tearing up/ fire bombing / throw silver bombs down the drain pipe... instead, they are shown "celebrating"? Seriously? ... sigh.

At least Quinlan did get mad at them for not saying you have to kill the crimson worm to kill the master, and in that scene, how come they had new body guards? All the other times, it was just him and them.

Also, pretty sad that they don't have UV systems setup in the outposts, they just waltz on in, and nice to know they had a walkway for them on top, so they can just detonate a worm bomb.

Kinda funny how only one guy can survive the sewers, and find the 'motherload' of them all in one convenient pit, and of course, they aren't going to use a silver bomb to take them out, at least I doubt it but we will have to wait for next week to see what happens.

Also funny how they would attach a key to a string in a cell testing out their microwave 'gun'. I thought the point was using the poker to get the blood bowl, not to see if it can escape.

Nothing like that in the book. The grunts aren't suppose to communicate through anything but telepathy back to the "Master/Ancient" or lieutenants of them. Later on the initial grunts gain back some of their human thought process though and are able to communicate normally through talking to each other and other humans. Freshly turned humans though are pure beasts without direct telepathic input from a Lt. or above.

, but then suddenly it was like BAU. I saw that it's only got another season so I'm assuming we're going to start doing time jumps soon.

I really liked how young Setrakian gave the ultimate punishment to that Muncher. That's what they outta do to the new master once they find him. I guess that's kinda the jest of the whole scene and about what the Egyptians did.

This season so far has been a let down, way too many stupid things going on for no good reason, except the character in question needed more air time it seems.
Silver powder took out some, yet, why aren't they using crop dusters filled with silver powder to take them all on?

I have a felling this show won't have a very happy ending.

Yeah, but it isn't only silver based weapons, it is also UV, so they could make huge spotlights that emit UV... and protect all major buildings with that.

That is why it makes little sense to NOT protect all the police stations, and other places of safety.
Right now, they only protect the book via cheap UV lights that could be broken if someone was to toss anything at them.

Eh, no. Ever see Daybreakers? It's a page right out of that book. As the number of humans decrease exponentially and the munchers do the reverse, they will need to start farming blood or they will all starve.

That's bsically what happens. Food chain with supply vs demand in the books. Eventually the vamps win out for a time in books. Most humans die out and the remainder of those living are basically cattle. Only pregnant females are given any form of preferential treatment as humans by the vamps. There are several reasons for this as explained in the book.
