Pretty sure they know. Don't think they ever said they were trying to mimic it, dumb fuck. "Oh, it has 'Tea Party' in it so it must be the same! But it's not, they must be dumb!" lol

so if i started a 'star wars party' that was actually based on the political views of star trek (why not, makes as much sense as your viewpoint), that wouldn't be dumb?

the boston tea party was about the denial of preferential treatment for large corporations. the current glenn beck 'tea partiers' are for it, whether they realize it or not. that makes them retarded.

Depends on who you ask. I know plenty of liberals who see guns as an evil degradation of society and anyone who carries one (outside of law enforcement) as furthering that degradation. Stupid people who have never been exposed to danger in their lives telling those who have that they shouldn't be able to defend themselves and that being in that situation is, regardless of circumstance, 100% their fault. Stupid stupid stupid. Don't even get me started on European gun laws.

Oh, and another weird thing. So many of these anti-gun liberals suck up to Europe. I've been in so many debates where one of said liberals says "Britain's proved everything!" and yet can't name a single British gun law beyond "they can't own guns" (which is technically not true in and of itself). When confronted with this they then claim "well people who know more than either of us have said that it is working", yet can't give me a single name. Yet, after just admitting that they know nothing of what they're talking about, they still refuse to concede the point. (or at least admit that they know nothing). Dumb shits. Thank God the ones I know have no political influence.

Sorry, gun rights is one of my soap boxes. I tend to get a little hot-blooded.

ah yes, the ever-present single issue voter.

I wish the real world were as simple as the one where you reside.

"tea" stands for "taxed enough already"

but, yeah, i agree with this post... especially the first statement.

the tea party reminds me a lot of a video i saw...

No, its stands for complete idiots who believe in the "free lunch".

WAHHHH Too much taxes? We just cut taxes enough to virtually bankrupt the country over the last 8 years. Now the idea of these morons is to make sure we do GO bankrupt.

The tea baggers need to specifically identify what programs they want to cut and by how much? Food inspections? Financial institution regulation? Drug testing? Automobile safety?

Yeah, the moronic Baggers just want to make sure we keep deficit spending until we have an economic collapse. They're too stupid to realize they are going to be the ones on the bread lines.

It's a movement, so pretty much the lowest common denominator rules.

The smart ones however want cut (I mean completely erase):

Medicare
Social Security
Whatever the fuck they just passed
USAPATRIOT
NAFTA
The DHS
The TSA
The CIA
The IRS
The Federal Reserve Act
All laws which criminalize the possession, or distribution of ANY DRUGS
99% of all federal law passed in the last 50 years
Any regulations which threaten the sovereignty of the US (secret trade agreements/treaties)

That would be a start. Baby steps.

I agree from the top of the list, through NAFTA.
Our Fed IS to be tasked with the defense and security of this sovereign State, and those departments starting at the DHS are largely necessary. Do they need to be within their own fancy little department name? Not necessarily, but the busybodies who do all the labor are definitely important.

The only other option in this anarchic international arena is for the states to provide their own resources for security. But without a uniting central body, it would be without unity for such a task. They need their own resources for security within the state borders and between states, and the 50 states need a single body to do all the international work.

Oddly enough, some of the most "well that actually makes sense" changes to the Fed departmental hierarchy were really somewhat recent. Like who answers to what, sharing information so there isn't time wasted, and whatnot.
Why the fuck it took that long to happen? Hell if I know. Some further consolidation of information and whatnot, and the size of the Federal laborpool could probably shrink some.

possession and whatnot? Definitely leave it up to the states, kind of like alcohol regulations are at the state level. Technically the drinking age is as well, but some crafty pressure from the Fed limits the ability to truly exercise their freedom to determine that for themselves.

And indeed many federal laws are just inane.
