Take my love,
Take my land,
Take me where I can not stand.

I don't care,
I'm still fine,
You can't take me the sky from me.

Take me out,
To the black,
Tell `em I ain't comin` back.

Burn the land,
And boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me.

There's no place I can be,
Since I found Serenity.

I posted this in the ATOT Nef thread, but they didn't seem to even notice it. Hopefully you'll like it better:

Hey, did you know: :sneaky:

Back in the days of the Salem witch trials, one of the women who wasn't accused was named Nef. Apparently she was a very religious woman who was well liked by all, because even today we still sing, "Gimme that old time religion, 'cause it's Goody Nef for me!"

I have been a donor since 1976. Stopped after 30 years in 2006 due to an infection I contracted. Now I may not anymore. Donated blood every 2 months and platelets every month. It was a very peaceful time: you could not do anything while donating platelets (it took 2 hours) but to relax, maybe sleep or chat with the nurses ...

yeah, I don't know how things are over there, but here the nurses are pretty hot!

I came on here to talk about the great bbq I had the other day and I end up seeing a bunch of poetry. What's wrong with your people, this is a nef thread!!!!???

I have to clean out my desk today...

I'm moving into a new office. Still a shared office, but I will be sharing with someone who is cool anyway, but he also works nights, so I pretty much get my own office-ish. I won't have a mini-fridge or a printer, but I can deal with that.

Not bad for a student worker at a university.

It is Friday - TGiF!

Tomorrow Saturday - much less enjoyable day: on-call from to-night until 09 tomorrow and from 2 pm till 8 pm ... what a whacky schedule!
Sunday is work-free ...

My Best Man 20 years and 10 days ago is getting married today (first-time.) I am in his wedding today. I did ask, there will not be any BBQ at the reception, but there will be plenty of malted beverages.

My wife drove home from the wedding reception as I had consumed far too many malted beverages. Unfortunately, about 14 miles from home a deer ran out and smashed my car. We were able to drive home, but it's not pretty. Bumper, grille, headlights, hood and more. Insurance company looking at it on Monday.

Good to hear you're OK. I encountered a deer standing on the shoulder once while I was driving about 75mph ; scared me pretty good.

Agree with theAnimal. Good to hear you and your wife are without injury.
Much depends on speed but a lot on the road: slippery? and the weight of the car vs the weight of the animal ...
I very much hope that the insurance covers your car's damage.

Maybe I need to look at other insurance companies.... Still haven't had the person there to look at the vehicle, just phone calls so far. We've already made the arrangements with the repair shop, and the rental car, but no approval yet from insurance carrier.

From witnesses, the brute was a 5 1/2 point white-tailed buck, that after the collision stumbled away. Estimate about 180 to 200 pounds (on the hoof.) Our vehicle (Chevy Trailblazer) traveling 40-45 MPH (64-72 KPH) on wet (turning icy) asphalt roadway.

Hopefully all gets resolved today.

Cheers!

I had a BBQ Turkey sammich for lunch. It was OK. Well the insurance people were there and estimated $3515 in damages. A/C condensor along with radiator and the other items. I will have a Chevy HHR to drive while my vehicle is being repaired.

End of finals.... ~60 ounces of silk panties ( 1/2 vodka, 1/2 peach schnapps). Yeehah

Yeah. Working as a techie for universities isn't a bad deal. I transitioned from student worker to full-time worker, but as a student worker I shared an office with one other student workers. We were the web-app team. Now I'm with the regular team up in a large office with 3 other guys doing everything. It's a pretty sweet deal.

Ugh, I'm having problems with my LAMP servers now. Multiple version of Ubuntu Server, and multiple platforms (VM and bare-metal) seem to be affected. The production web server isn't affected yet, that I know how. This sucks...
