The Terminal: I just saw it today

Typical Spielberg feelgood fare, but that's not a bad thing, since I love them all.

I agree that it was a great movie...I had some issues with the first 30 minutes, but the ending more than makes up for it. I hope it does really well at the BO.

GOod movie, I saw it last night. FUnniest part IMO - when the "boss" of the airport (I forget his title... commissioner?) tells Victor he can leave as long as he establishes a fear to return home... Victor ends up saying "I am afraid of this room... I am afraid of ghosts... I am afraid of sharks..."... I laughed so hard at that part.

It is quite funny. Tom Hanks did a great job - his character is very endearing.

Very loosely based doesnt go far enough. The only real similarities are they both got stuck in airports.

That's one of the very few movies I've seen where the guy doesn't get the girl. Kinda odd, but cool that they're not following the same formula as everyone else.

Speilburg is making a lot of "ordinary" films lately. That one with Leo wasn't that good. I think he is starting to lose his magic.

hahhaa yeah. lots of very funny parts... but yeah the direction of the movie seemed kind of iffy at times. i wasnt sure whether it was supposed to be funny, or deep. and it seemed unfinished at the end. i mean what happened to catherine zeta jones (who is twice my age... but so hot )? and the whole story about his father... probably could have developed further. overall it was only better than average.

Saw this one yesterday, and I liked it a lot. I didn't like the fact that he couldn't understand any English at the beginning of the movie, yet after only a couple of days, he's fluent? I'm not buying that. But all else said, it was a great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

it's amazing how many of you didn't like this film because of the ending.

i loved the ending. i loved that not everything was resolved in a good old hollywood way. the relationship between victor and czj was great, not what i wanted to see but the bittersweetness of it was great.

i dont mean to bump an old thread but i saw this film yesterday

a few thoughts:

1. it was an EXCELLENT date movie as it had a perfect blend of comedy and romance
2. it was a very moving movie. I am not an emotional person in any way, shape, or form BUT at times, i felt really bad for tom hanks character
3. it was a thoughtful movie, my date and i spoke about it for hours afterward

The reviewer from my newspaper said that the Tom Hanks character must be dummer than Forrest Gump for not trying to resolve a situation where 99% of normal people would be much more assertive.
