Well cool for you,but continuing on,I Know this is the first TERMINATOR VS first predator but I do have to bring on TERMINATOR SALVATION for one second,marcus wright half human half TERMINATOR went against a T-800 and A T-800 punched marcus in the heart,one punch and marcus was down,now my point is,the same thing would probably happen to predator seeing he is living organs. the GOD ALMIGHTY T-800 wins hands down.

I've been on several forums where threads have been updated after many years of inactivity and someone always says "why did you necro this thread".

I don't get it. Why not? The forum keeps the threads here so that if someone wants to go back and post to it, they can. What's the big deal with updating an old post if it can continue the discussion? Just because the post is old(er) doesn't mean that the discussion is any less valid.

This might have been asked before but hell, I don't know.

With the advent of "Alien vs. Predator" and its impending release I figured "tis the season."

Who would you place your money on and why? The Terminator (I'm talking the Arnold model, which, I believe, was the T-101 right?) or The Predator.

The predator will win easily based on weapons that can be used from a distance.
In close combat however the terminator will be damaged but will win from the terminator if the predator has no weapons. Hand to hand combat so to say.

Against the female terminator model from T3 the predator will loose because she(it ?) has been augmented with weapons to attack from a distance and to attack from close range. And no, it is not because Kristanna Loken has the ability to make me salivate.

I should add that cloaking is of no use against the terminators.

I agree partially.
When it comes to preparation, indeed the predators will win based on prior experience as seen in the movies. The weapon from the space ship in alien VS predator to shoot a mile deep hole in the the ice and ground will be sufficient to destroy all skynet mainframes.

If a skynet alike consciousness would be given access to the technology of the predators ? Then the predators will have a serious problem. Because then both contesters are on par on a technological level. The issue is here about the support systems and morality.

Drones or clones that can be sacrificed are more easy to turn into perfect weapons than biological lifeforms that need support systems because they wish to keep existing no matter what. Fighting for survival or fighting to exterminate your enemy without having to worry about your own life. Sounds familiar when comparing to current events does it not ?

A walking nuke attacking you and expecting not to survive is much more dangerous then someone who wants to kill you and afterwards he himself wants to remain alive. Therefore, unless predators go on a suicide mission (they only use the self destruct bomb after they have lost the battle) skynet drones have the upper hand when using similar technology.

yea but lets not forget the t-800 series to have hydrogen fuel cells built in them which would take out any predator even though i doubt if TERMINATOR would need that to kill predator,i mean predators are alot faster so the main problem the t-800 would have is getting ahold of him,but see TERMINATOR's are to indestructable for a predator,i doubt if predator would win,predators can bleed and die,T-800's cant unless you find away to crush them,melt them with something really really hot or blow em up with a bomb,other than that predator has no chance against any T-800.

well thats your opinion your titled to but alot of people know that if predator couldn't defeat arnold as a human than he has no chance at defeating arnold as a TERMINATOR T-800 i mean again predtor is to human like,A T-800 would hurt that poor creature,a T-800 would shred predator.

It'd take several confrontations, starting hand to hand and culminating in some huge explosion with humans helping the predators.

Machines are scary, but introducing random variables can really f them up.
