The Tester...PSN

Had no idea where else to post this really, and didn't see another topic.

Has anyone else been watching this? It's retarded. I'm all for Playstation, but seriously, what the hell does LARP'ing have to do with becoming a videogame tester? If they had challenges that actually made sense, like the Buzz test next week, it would be a hell of a lot better.

The most ridiculous part: Winning a job as a tester. That is not something you want to win.

It depends. It IS a good start into the industry, and if you were looking for employment at Playstation, then it would be a good way to start. Plus $50k bonus for winning.

I really enjoy this show in a trainwreck sort of way. Episodes are the right length, if they were longer, I couldn't bring myself to watch.

David Jaffe was on it, they claim that he started his career as a tester. I think the show is a train wreck just because half the contestants are cry babies and look about to cry half the time. The hosts are like that too. Seems like they are hurt because the contestants are acting like asses on purpose.

That judge with the blonde hair acts like he has a pole rammed up his ass all the time, and I don't like Hal Sparks. The contestants all do seem like whiny bitches, the only normal seeming one is the black guy (the skinny one). The fat white guy was cool until he started crying about that chick (also that beerios thing...).

I just watched Episode 5, and it's pretty damn sad that I knew almost all the questions (without 1-3 in sports and racing) and they couldn't answer them. Seriously, not knowing the color of the triangle or the year the PS3 came out?

I know the triangle is green but I have no idea when the PS3 came out. I'd guess 2006

I know when all the systems came out. In fact, the PS3 was in Nov...the 17th I believe. As per the Wii as well. Can't remember the exact date of 360 though.
The one I didn't get right that I hated was the PS1 date (and I knew Ken but forgot it for a second). I was 2 years off (the 10 year plan sort of got me).

Yeah, these people can't be the best. I think they are just the "best" that had enough time to come to the Sony house and stay there for a few days for the competition.

The show is starting to really piss me off in soo many ways for instance....The only challenge that I could see how it would translate into what testers would do was the first one. All of the others thus far has nothing to do with what the testers job would entail other than maybe teamwork. Second is the fact that they got rid of big d on the last show for a bullshit reason and a half assed attempt to keep the girl just because she has a fanbase? I just don't understand what sony is thinking with this. The concept was a good idea when they announced it but it seems like they just arent trying to keep it realistic to the target audiance that would be watching this show.

They should talk to people who really test games and see what they think about this. haha ... nothing like it is being cracked up to be by this show.
