?? am I missing something. Being 9 and getting a toilet for a gift from Kohler hardly sounds exciting. I'd ask for a spa tub at least!

Even though the toilet isn't clear, it's still one of the best toilets out there - the Kohler Cimarron. Installed 4 of those babies so far.

WTF are you, ricer? If you're going that route slap on a few NOS stickers on there. And we all know the stickers add at least 10gal per flush.

I'm sure you could OVERCLOCK that thing to at least a few GHz.

1.6 gallon flushes. However, 1.6 gallons of water is going through a 3.25" flush valve vs. a 2.5" or so inch flush valve. The Cimarrons are only about $199 at Home Depot. A bit less through my plumbing supplier, though.

I haven't, but my client did. I installed 2 of them a few months back. A few weeks ago, he had me come back and install the last 2 in his house. He's impressed. I'll upgrade my johns a bit down the road withi this model.

From the reviews:
Exceptional flushing power: With the increased diameter of its industry-leading 3 1/4-inch flush valve, KOHLER Class Five flushing technology creates incredibly strong gravity-fed flushing power while also maintaining the efficient use of 1.6 or 1.4 gallons of water. Additionally, a fully glazed 2 1/8-inch trapway and an optimized siphon jet ensure a powerful flush every time the toilet is used. Lastly, the Cimarron Comfort Height toilet features an 11-by-10 inch water surface - among the largest in the industry - to provide for better hygiene as it helps maintain a more overall clean and odorless bowl.

comfort height: aka higher toilet easier to sit down on and easier for the elderly.

I doubt it. If you were to find a larger tank, it would need the 3.25" opening. Kohler is the only one out there at the moment with such a valve opening. 1.6 gallons is plenty with this toilet.

Yup. Not only the elderly, though. The Cimarron is 17" high - the same height as a normal chair.

not only that, less crampy on your legs if your tall. but it also normally has a longer sitting area (whatever they are called, normally for men) that will cause it to take up more of the bathroom if you have a small bathroom.

iirc.

True. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything but elongated toilets. Those old round things are horrible. Fortunately, the builder of our house was more of an upgraded builder, so we had 3 of 'em from the start.

yea, we have round ones here, still the originals i think we bought the house with. but my dad threw a new elongated one into my grandparents comfort height ADA, kohler too, not sure what exactly it was. but i do know the base was wider than the old one cuz he had to move the valve for the water.

i just was impressed by the new lid heh.

no more loud THUNK.
