Hello sir. I was going to ask you, what recipe you suggest for my first pork belly attempt this weekend? I'm going to take one of my recently Frozen pork belly portions out of the freezer from Costco.

Umm depends on what you feel like? Also, look in the food thread perhaps?

You had posted one that I quoted just a couple weeks ago. I think you did it with a different kind of pork to be healthier but then you said just do it with pork belly it's better. You don't remember? I'll go digging if not

For now, I’m interpreting the delay on tariffs as cooler heads prevailing behind the scenes. Some handler or combination thereof has gently stroked his hair like a 3 year old and explained to Trump (in a non-ego threatening way) that his big beautiful tariffs are going to destroy things that they cannot afford to have destroyed. They have convinced him to wait until the time is right and they hopefully are counting on his ADHD, dementia and/or his eventual demise to make him forget about the terrible idea when the time comes back around. Trump cannot be handled, but he can be bought, stroked, influenced and steered in particular directions, so long as one lets him think it was his idea in the first place.

He just threatened a trade war for absolutely no reason and then backed off despite not getting any meaningful concessions. He talks about wanting to grant statehood to a country (Canada) that would control over 10% of Congress and whose electoral votes would ensure no Republican ever becomes president again. He nearly caused a cataclysmic flood in our nation’s breadbasket because he doesn’t understand how water management works. Trump and MAGA have been barking that the Mexican army is in the pockets of the cartels. So, Trump just negotiated a deal that put ten thousand terrorists right on the US border.

He’s a mad king tilting at windmills while an unelected bigot foreigner tries to take over the reins of government. He isn’t America’s Hitler - he’s America’s Hindenburg.

Then Justin is a PAB.

You don't beat a bully by blowing him.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. You don’t get back at Trump by cutting off power to, checks notes, the northeast and northwest. He doesn’t give a shit about those regions. Not to mention the US exports electricity to Canada too depending on demand, it’s far from a one way street.

You don’t beat a bully by punching his victims in the face either. How do we look if we cut power to children and the elderly in the middle of winter? Come on man. It was never going to happen. We would cede the moral high ground to Trump. Again, we would make Trump the moral one.

Trump supposed to talk to Xi today. We'll see if they secure their own climb down.

The Chinese also opened an antitrust case against Google as a clear warning shot that American business in China is at risk.

Of all the "enemies", I like Xi the most. He comes off as being an actual reasonable person and not hell bent to rule the World.

The Chinese are capable of thinking long term. Americans are not. The Chinese government sucks in an uncountable number of ways but I don’t think the American system can claim to be any better as of Jan 20 2025. All of their evils are here now too.

As a Person, I disagree. Trump is only "better" because the political system he has taken control of isn't/wasn't a Dictatorship from the start.
Yeah and we'll see how long that system lasts, he's destroying it an an insane rate. The consequences won't show up for a bit and by the time people realize he's completely fucked our country it will be too late.

While Xi indeed is destroying China's government, Trump is speeding even more than Putin which is destroying Russia too.

If those 3 falls, the rest of the world won't sustain what might the billionaries do to them once get the power.

This is not ending well... imagine if Trump starts with Chinese companies but extends worldwide screwing Amazon, eBay and the other stores in the process due the responses of the affected countries.

Canada and Mexico would have been subject to the new de minimis rule also so it will probably resurface when he gets around to the EU/UK. USPS is more or less saying they cannot handle the change so are rejecting parcels instead. You need a lot of infra do collect duties on this volume of stuff and it doesn't exist/isn't funded.
