Now that I've calmed down from my past history PTSD of escaping pogroms.. I'll add something..

People have willingly sacrificed their lives in order to not change their mind from Socrates to present day Ukraine or even here. Hell people have even killed others to not be forced to change their minds. Civil war comes to mind.

And I actually agree with you that it will be very messy but that is what will take a civil war and blood to wrestle your country back or we might as well leave.

Because no matter which crazy choice we think is better.. or even the ones dreaming of an electoral win.. the constant that remains is that a reset can't be done with arsonists around always trying to undo any kind of "progress" because it suits the other side.. and that's what we have here.. any progress will be destroyed by MAGA.


Thing is people here won't really wake up till there is a MAGA inspired pogrom next door. Right now people are still sleeping and they think MAGA is only targeting "bad actors" like that Palestinian kid that protested. It starts small but they eventually grow in size and come for more.

Bottom line is we can't live with MAGA or at the mercy of MAGA. We need a MAGA free country.

I think the fundamental flaw in this is the implication that "MAGAs" are intrinsically different types of people. Ultimately they are a product of their environment, i.e. of social and economic conditions. Start a new country and you'll probably eventually produce your own MAGAs.

Besides the metals tariffs there isn't a lot of certainty about what's going to happen until we hit 4/2. Like everything between 5% universal tariff and 500% tariffs on any country with a VAT is possible.

My company uses lots of metal, and does lots of import/export (global manufacturer) Which is why I'm so curious as to our internally communicated take on this shitshow.
