The most plausible explanation I have read on this so far is as this: It is not about economics or even driving jobs and manufacturing home. It is about kissing the ring.
Remember when that letter went out to french companies about not doing business with the US if they had DEI and woke bullshit on their agenda?

Trump poked them in his first term but properly shit on them in his second. He's backed them all into a collective corner and made them into fighting pack of hyenas when they were just all individual hyenas before!

Poked? Naw, they happened. It spurred inflation, caused bailouts, and then covid hit which spurred inflation into bidens term, and this was also made worse by the 1.5T tax giveaway to .01% in 2017 (which expired for the plebes, and are permanent for your rulers)

With factors taken into account, its frankly amazing that bidens administration was as successful as they were in the economy aspect

WTI has cratered ten bucks down to $61 as OPEC opens the taps. This is below the price US drillers need to make wells pay even before tariffs which have spiked the cost of their materials (pipes). So much for American energy "dominance" lol.
