The maga faithful like my parents still worship the orange aura who can do no wrong in their eyes. They actually continue to blame democrats for issues that have been clearly caused they their chosen party.

This might sound strange and very harsh.. but you need to approach life like you would like triage on the battlefield.

Spend time and resources on those who you can save (like yourself) and not on those you can't.

P.S. I know it sucks.. been through it myself. But sometimes it's necessary to make difficult decisions!

So much for personal responsibility. Republicans hold all the cards. Your parents should be thrilled Trump is going to cut off their social security and crash their retirement accounts.

The cult is mostly beyond help. The average moron voter who thought they were getting 2019 is not and they will be very unhappy very soon.

They're in as much denial as the stock market financial influencers..

I can't even bother trying to explain it to them that in 2008 or 2020, we didn't purposely try to shit all our overseas trading partners.

The US is 3% of the world market. And American multinational companies will lose a good % of the 97% market.

Heck we've made it very popular overseas to stand up to Trump and look for alternate supply chains that bypass the US markets. And TESLA is the leading indicator.. people stop buying when you go out of your way to piss them off.

Until MAGA is truly gone.. I don't think a market recovery is even feasible.. but of course the stock market can stay irrational way longer than you can stay solvent!

He spent yesterday golfing while the stock markets plunged. Feckless and an out and out criminal. Unthinkable that he was elected. There's serious trouble coming.
I think this was done on purpose, to give the impression that he's not fixing to blink when it comes to these tariffs, that hes not worried about it in the least. They made a point of talking about it, in fact.

Or this one. Must have low standards, or be perpetual surrounded by some of the dumbest people, where the "smartest" idea is to not stick the fork in the electric socket.

These people have decided to piss on the third rail and say that it might be little zesty but don't panic.

Not only are they pissing on the rail, they're doing it in the most obvious ways that there will be no doubt as to responsibility. They're really going to taint the entire Republican platform.

They have unzipped, entirely dropped the pants, bare ass hanging out, and whistling loudly. There will be no escape from the blame.

All the finance people and economists I follow are posting Margin Call (2011) gifs.

On the bad scale of 1-10 that's like a 14.

I don't think so.. the dems will give them pardons and bring them back in the name of dumbocracy and hold them in high esteem like look we're bi-partisan!

Such is the vision of Cucky Schumer!

I think you're overestimating the desire for sweeping things under the rug anymore. Schumer is not particularly popular, and there are rising voices to turn over the old guard who won't do enough.

Even under Biden, a guy that tried to have that normalcy, how many shitheads from the past administration were pardoned?

You have to hand it to the UK - they got rid of Liz Truss as prime minister for wrecking the economy in less than 2 months. Trump has done the exact same thing and yet he’s still here, like a bad case of fucking herpes. Our political system sucks that we can't oust this lunatic like in a parliamentary system.

I've been hearing this is a "deliberately" manufactured crisis. If this is a deliberately manufactured crisis, it's one of the dumbest in history. The first rule of manufacturing a crisis to seize power is to avoid having your own fingerprints on it — you want plausible deniability, and ideally a fake trail pointing at your political opposition. But this crisis has a fucking neon “TRUMP” sign on it. The economy is crashing in real time and everyone can see why.

Trump has been talking about how awesome tariffs are since the ‘80s. The evidence suggests he genuinely believes this. Nobody's playing 11-dimensional chess here. Or, is the strategy - Identity politics for campaigning, a corporate raider style takeover for dismantling the government, and lastly. Martial law to enforce?

Trump basically said he won't protect the stock market because he feels what he's doing will help businesses. The stock market is a measurement of what investors believe the future will look like. It’s a leading indicator. When Trump took power they didn’t think he would really be dumb enough to impose tariffs on major, integrated, economies. But now they realize he really is that stupid and, secondly, he might stick to his guns for awhile to deepen the pain. It’s almost like it wasn’t a good idea to put a guy in charge of the economy who couldn’t get financing domestically, because he bankrupted everything he touched.

Trump is governing by Executive Order not because he’s strong, but because he’s weak. A strong president could push much of his agenda through a divided Congress, like Joe Biden did. Trump knows he can’t do that, so he issues proclamations and orders that get routinely knocked back by the courts. That leaves him playing footsie with the idea that he can simply defy them in the end, but if he truly believed that he would have done it outright by now, while his hand was still strong. Now that he is underwater on approval, even over the economy which is supposed to be his wheelhouse.

There’s not a respected economist, pundit or CEO in the world who believes this is the way forward. Markets are tanking, small and large businesses are scrambling, world leaders are retaliating, and where is Trump? On the golf course with his Saudi backers.

This guy can't stroke out on the shitter rage tweeting fast enough

Eric Swalwell: - The economy is crashing and the President is fucking golfing. He's hitting balls and I'm taking calls. This isn’t “America First.” It's Trump first. So, Mr. President, get your ass off the golf course and fix this.
