Why is it MAGA thinks they can dominate the entire world when they're just 3% of the worlds population?

No way can they stop everyone trading with China militarily either.

Heck just add up South Korea, Japan, Vietnam.. only those 3 countries added together accounts for more trade to the USA.
Same reason dickface thinks only the US can watch out for their interests.

Canada and Europe want to sign a trade deal? NO!!!! You can't do that only WE can do that!!!

Europe wants to arm their own countries and cut us out??? NO!!!!! You can't do that we have to be allowed into everything!!!

He's a fucking narrow minded idiot.

Is that first one him putting his initial or pushing his OWN company stock? Jesus Christ how corrupt and blatant.
I think it's his blanket attempt to goose bulls into action. The market edict that comes to my mind is "don't try to catch a falling knife."

Nothing would work better than 2/3 senators for confirmed impeachment #3.
I think we should remember that most of these a holes despise The Don... When enough support is there the strike will be almost instant

Maybe... but the effect on DJT stock from right about the moment it was posted is sharp. Unintended benefit perhaps...

I think China has the upper hand. Exports to the US are/were around 500B/yr, which is 15% of their total exports
of over 3T in USD.
No one, or not many importing companies, are going to pay 104% tariff tax on Chinese goods, because the US population isn't going to
pay these importing companies new prices when they raise their prices 25-%50%-100%

China can just make up that 15% loss (500B) by making deals with the rest of the world that buys their product.
There's still 85% of the world that will buy providing the world economy isn't in a recession or worse, a depression.

The syphilitic orange menace wants jobs back from china, etc to the US.
You think the US population will do this?
So many product shortages are about to empty store shelves across the US. If this goes on for months it is going to be chaos.

Only way I see it happening, congress throwing him out on his ass, is a clear-cut for certain crisis that requires successful impeachment. Yes, that is possible, of course.

I don't see on what grounds Trump would be impeached. Being a terrible president, AFAIK, is not grounds to being impeached.

Now, assuming that you could actually get 2/3rds of the senate - would Vance as president be any better?

Congress can impeach and remove a President because he puts onions in potato salad. Impeachment is a political act.

Impeachment is a political process. Congress can pick any reason they'd like.

Vance does not wield the kind of loyalty that Trump does or anything even in the same galaxy. He would be 2nd fiddle to Congress as a caretaker president because they could just keep impeaching people until they get to somebody who does what they want. The house could also elect a new compromise speaker, some R that isn't nuts, and make him president.

This is a good article. Michell Goldberg, the writer, I've been impressed with her work. Read, also, the comments, some real gems there, order them by Reader Picks.

Link penetrates NYTimes paywall for 14 days, i.e. until April 22, 2025:
Early in the Michelle Goldberg piece linked here is a mention of Peter Berezin, chief global strategist at BCA Research (out of Montreal, I believe) which provides macroeconomic research to major financial institutions (75% of them!). This guy clearly knows what he is talking about and is in the habit of speaking his mind, and has a mind to speak.

Here is a 5 minute video made a few days ago of Peter that's poignant. There's lots of videos involving him at YT.

Doesn't Airbus have a really long delivery queue??

Good for the rest of the world to jump ahead in the queue!

About a decade deep last I looked. If any foreign carriers want to dump their Boeing orders and snap up Airbus equivalents there are going to be some opportunities.

If I were Vance in that scenario I would be scared shitless for the remainder of my life. Large portions of MAGA would absolutely consider him a usurper.

Vance would be more easily controlled though. But yes, highly unlikable and would have to really turn things around fast. Unlikely.

Boeing has lots of tariffs to pay as well. I guess Delta will have to make do with the planes they have. America is going to look like Cuba with classic planes still flying around.

The 757 will be with us till doomsday.

Cars too.. who's gonna be able to afford $120,000 cars or $50,000 second hand cars when they are losing jobs left and right due to the recession?

Ancient cars repairs that will replacement parts is likely to become a sector that will likely grow going forward.

Yes, believe it or not, Vance would be not as bad. Horrible, yes, but not as horrible.

Vance has done a bigger job of pissing off allies than Trump has.

If we're entertaining fantasy solutions.. Rubio could be their savior but we know MAGA will not turn on Trump. The old Republicans are dead.

They're actually more likely to stick with Trump and overturn any election results with the rigged courts like in North Carolina right now.
