THEY PULL YOU BACK IN!!!

Saw this on YT:

Is it just me or Todd doesn't sound unmuzzled now?

Wasn't his fan for a long time for sanewashing Trump but maybe it was NBC.

Should listen to this bit from 5:49 to 15:00

Texas and the deep south has benefitted the most from free trade and they're the one going to get hurt the most with the tariffs.

Keypoint at 14:20.. they may be loyal but they'll find out what the tariffs are doing when coffee is going to be Biden's price of eggs. No matter where you get your coffee.. cheap coffee or expensive coffee at Starbucks.. you'll notice the tariff price increase!

Hey bro, I hear you are looking for more uncertainty.

Trump tariff regime so far:

View attachment 121958

Apparently, the new way to operate an importing business will be to leave the items offshore and wait until whatever day Trump declares there are no tariffs, and then be quick to act. Although he changes his mind so suddenly that you'd have to airlift your items in order to take advantage of his sudden changes. The cost of air freight would make that unprofitable.

Wednesday: no exemptions ever!
Friday: exemptions on iPhones and computers!
Sunday: the exemptions are only temporary!
Sunday afternoon: there were never any exemptions!

He changes his tariff policies on an hourly basis. How can investors and businesses have any confidence about their future prospects in the USA? We are so fucked

This is so the market will crash tomorrow, Trump will then "change his mind" around noon and the market will boom.

Criminal market manipulation at it's finest

This seems to be about destroying the baseline, the constants we use as a measure. It’s about assailing the unassailable.

Did Trump fire federal workers or are they coming back? If I’m a federal worker, will I have a job tomorrow? Who knows? If I’ve been placed on leave, will I be reinstated? I might get an answer on that today, but no one knows if the answer will be the same tomorrow.

Is my business facing increased tariffs or not? No one knows. I might be subject to tariffs today, so should I wait until tomorrow to place that order? They tariffs might be gone tomorrow. The tariffs might be double…..or triple tomorrow. No one knows.

If I’m a legal immigrant, here with a green card or here under a student visa, is my presence still legal today? Who knows? I might get up and go to class as usual, or I might be renditioned to a third world prison? No one knows.

The other half walked off that cliff willingly, and are flapping their arms because they think maybe they can fly…..in part because their cult leader told them they could, but in part because “Who knows?” Gravity worked yesterday, but does it still work? No one knows? Even some of the people who were pushed off the cliff might be thinking “Who knows?” Maybe gravity isn’t the rule today?”

It’s about making sure there are no constants anymore, no normal processes apply anymore.

There is a book on Putin’s Russia called “Nothing is True and Everything is Possible” that describes this dynamic, and I think the title says it all.

The uncertainty is the point.

We are a centrally planned economy now.
Trump has done this by Congress allowing their power to be usurped by a tyrant.
Now Americans everywhere will pay the price and suffer the fate of all planned economies. Abject failure and poverty are our future prospects.

A new business opportunity.... setup large floating storage islands out in international waters offshore from major ports. When tariff conditions are right, airlift containers using blimps ( we are in the 1920's again right? right? so we have to use blimps!).

So much winning!

China plays the long game no question

MAGAs will downplay this and say China's bluffing and won't win here, because America is the greatest most powerful county. And that China needs us but we don't need them. And that companies have pledged 10 billion in new US factories to bring manufacturing here.

Who cares It'll take 15 years to actually happen. And by then, everything will be automated, so there won't actually be any many jobs, and even if there were, most Americans are too good to do minimum wage shit factory work.

Then they'll bring up the 50 countries, that no MAGA has ever heard of because our school system sucks so badly. And brag about them caving in to Trump. I asked a MAGA which of the 50 countries that gave in to Trump's tariffs are vital to our trade. They unsurprisingly didn't know a single one of them.

That’s because they are only capable of repeating talking points. It’s why the righties on this forum never debate or back up their claims or put forth any opinion that they can expand on. When called on their bs talking points they’ll either play the victim (everyone on the forum is mean to me) or they tuck tail and run. They are in a cult and are completely clueless about it.

Stock markets may go up and down, but small business owners who actually has to make real decisions based on this are truely f... They don't have the capital or political power to do anything about it and are very likely to loose their business and investments, often put their house up as security.

Government by whimsical executive order is not what the founders of the USA had in mind. They would be appalled at what's happening.

Hum... maybe this "trade war against the evil china" will have the effect of industrialize China even more? There was already the push to produce advanced computer chips there, now we are seeing things like this:

China Southern Airlines put to auction all their Boeing planes, they plan to substitute for native made models.
It can be yours for US$ 550 mi.

Wealthy magtards are mainly accountants, lawyers and other people living from overpaid bs jobs of the service economy, it s like they believe that others will do the job for them, or that everything will fall from heaven to keep feeding their insatiable apetite for easy money, typical beliefs of the rabid cultists they are.

What are they gonna do against a country that produce 1.5M/year enginers/scientists with 2M/year targeted for 2035.?

In 10-15 years china will have 50M high level enginers/scientists workforce while
the US produce such personal at a rate of 200k/year, and with all the fascist laws in the making it will be over for the brain drain, and worse, it could well be the reverse
with US scientists of all kind fleeing under better skies, there s already a lot looking for an european location.

They are only selling their 787-8s which are less economical to operate. Keeping their 787-9s, A-350s, 777s, etc. The C929 will not be available for quite some time though they will probably buy some.

It's just bizarre. I can't keep up - is there a timeline/summary of all the pronouncements so far? And has he flip-flopped again since this post yesterday?

Also, is anyone actually collecting any of these tariffs in the brief intervals between his announcing them and rescinding/suspending/delaying them/denying they ever existed? Does the infrastructure for collecting them even exist, and how do those responsible for them manage to keep pace with the constantly-changing rules?

Not surprisingly the system in place to deal with this is not set up to radically shift on a near hourly basis. Some stuff ended up charged tariffs that were then rolled back and those people are trying to get refunds. Some just are not being collected because of the lag involved in updating the systems and cargo would overwhelm shippers, ports, and customs facilities. In short it's a big ass mess.
