I am keeping an eye on it as well.

In addition to keeping things under control, if we could cease with drive by comments, particularly those that call out specific members. I can't speak for PM, but I am pretty close to infracting members for posting things like 'can't wait to see what the iFans/Phandroids think of this'. That is just inciting things.

This whole thread was started to "incite things". I stopping coming around as much because of the idiocy and s*** slinging from the usual suspects.

For god's sake people, they're just small appliances we fart around with and use to communicate. If arguing about this sort of thing is one of your main focuses in life, then you really need to stop and think about where you went wrong. Seriously.

The average joe uses the default web browser and doesn't go through the headaches the video maker did when trying to get everything to work well with Dolphin. Excuse me for skipping the rest of the points since I'm still finishing the rest of the video.
Well I was just asking since apparently the guy was an idiot and doing everything half as fast as iOS users could do the same tasks. So I was wondering how this could actually be and hoping for a substantive answer.

Unless of course it was just a typical kneejerk reaction with zero substance I was responding too.

I watched it with an open mind until I saw the YouTube text bubble about how he would like to see iOS handle live wallpapers smoothly. I take this as implying that iOS would not be able to handle it smoothly. Perhaps that may be true if you take a 3GS and try and do that (it's not exactly very beefy), but a 4S? It has a better GPU than the phone you're using and given less hardware options, the chance of driver optimization is high.

In other words, it's pretty damn ludicrous to suggest that live wallpapers would be laggy on an iPhone 4S running iOS.

Also, using the word "beautiful" to describe a UI implementation. That's so Apple.

Just a quick note, you can create an Apple account with no credit card.

This is part of what the person that made the videos is talking about. Compare that to doing it on an Android phone. IIRC...you just need to sign in to your Google/Gmail account to use the Market? And removing a credit card from your account causes no issues on Android. Dont know how it effects iOS users.

Some things may take less steps on Android, or be less of a hassle to do. Its mostly about addressing the myth that iOS is so much easier to use than Android. For that to be the case...it would have to be easier across the board.

Case in point....me and my kids mother had issues with the one button setup and navigating the Settings areas on her iPhone 4. She just got it a month ago. We've both been using Android phones for 2 years. I had to go online to find out where the blue tooth settings were on the iPhone 4. Its in General. I was used to it being in Wireless and Network settings on Android. I assume if one has a blue tooth device they would know its a wireless device. So why not put it in Wireless settings on iOS?

Sometimes....like in the PC world....something being easier, intuitive depends on what you are used to, what you are comfortable with. I picked up Android alot quicker than iOS coming from Win Mo. The Omnia 1 specifically. Blue tooth is in Wireless and Network settings on the old Win Mo too...

I think for him to compare non root features of Android to non jail brake features of iOS is the key thing too. Not just for customization...but out the box features.

In my experience, the avg Android user doesn't use widgets or even know what they are. Every Android user that I've come across only used one panel/page, which is the home page. If they want to use an app, they bring up the app drawer. Totally inefficient, but then again the avg consumer doesn't really bother to learn anything.

You are telling me the avg android user doesn't set desktop shortcuts to their apps?

Widgets are one of the great things about Android. seriously.. I like my screen to display some sort of up to date information like what the facebook, google news widget, twitter widget do.

I like them both. I like the widgets and tons of other nice touches on Androd, but apps-wise, iOS kills the sh.+ out of Android.

Hardware-wise, you don't get the latest from Apple, but their general quality and reliability is certainly a known quantity.

Again, I like them both. I own a 3rd gen iPod touch, and am on my second Android phone. I was all but sure about going iPhone at my next upgrade (assuming the next iPhone supports 4G-LTE), but recently I've found myself rooting for Android again.

If only I could push one button and switch instantly between the two.

Well...we aren't avg users. I guess I can't pass judgement that every avg user don't use it, I'm just making a comment that people that I know of that use Android...don't use them.

The trend that I've seen with my friends or people I know is that they only use the middle main page and the other pages are either empty or unorganized.
