Hey good morning Sunburn! I appreciate your reply, especially your admission that the MSM/ Press is biased. I can work with that. It's the folks who can't admit it, I have no way to connect with.

Ah the old media bias meme. How cute. Its funny how folks can say this with a straight face given all the free press Trump got. Even Republicans were complaining about this in the primaries.

And yet, where is the evidence of this overwhelming bias?

I'll tell you right now, I think Trump is a pompous ass. My Dad, retired teacher Democrat, asked me what I thought of Trump? I told him he was an embarrassment! Certainly not my choice, but I'm only one vote. And I, like fully 1/2 of the voters in this country, did not want another 4 or years of left wing ideology. Having almost the entire MSM and press espousing that same ideology makes it a rather uphill battle, don't you think?

And so, you vote for a man who is demonstrably racist, misogynistic, lying, world class creep.

But don't worry, I'm sure he will cancel social security soon!

I'm amazed at how much denial Hillary supporters are in. She was a horrible candidate.

She successfully took over the DNC, and enlisted the media in outright collaboration with her campaign.

Aside from us, the American public, the biggest losers in this entire election cycle were the major main stream press. The leaks showed a large amount of collusion between DNC/Hillary and big media outlets. Not just their objectivity, but their credibility was called into question and their reputation tarnished. After all, if an organization is clearly pushing one political party and is caught colluding with that party and even lying (selectively editing video/audio), how is that organization any more credible than that random crackpot tweeting on the internet?? What normally makes a legitimate outlet more credible even when they are biased is that they have a reputation on the line. Nobody doubts CNN was pushing Hillary, but they had limits to how far they could go because they have to retain their credibility. They've been exposed now and their credibility is in tatters.

So what are some of the legitimate media sources that people still trust? BBC?

The media gave him free press not because they supported him or wanted to support him, but more because he drove ratings. They covered him like a train wreck -- people just couldn't help but tune into what he said and did. That is not the same as them pushing one party or candidate.

You and a lot of those on the left might think the media bias meme cute, but the public at large doesn't trust the press anymore: http://www.gallup.com/poll/195542/americans-trust-mass-media-sinks-new-low.aspx

That was back in September, before this election and all the revelations from email leaks about the media working with the DNC and the Hillary campaign. People's trust in objective main stream media has likely sunk even further since then. You might not think it a big deal, but I guarantee you that there is a lot of work going on with all the major media outlets to deal with this crisis.

Curious, do you think the RNC/Trump is in collusion with Fox and the Right Wing media outlets ?

That's an easy one. Hell yes I think Fox news is included.

I believe that yes, RNC and Trump colluded with Fox and other right wing media outlets (Breitbart head Bannon is not Senior Strategy advisor to Trump now by accident). What complicates matters though is that Trump was often at war with Fox and other GOP-oriented outlets. Hillary was the darling of all the big media, even though a lot of people were not sold on her. No dissension was allowed. They created an echo chamber of support for her when the public had misgivings about her. Fox and Breitbart and other righty outlets were united in their dislike for Hillary, but were not all supportive of Trump all the time either.

All the media (left and right) came out of this election with their credibility in tatters IMO, but Breitbart will gain because they now have a lot more traffic and revenue and direct influence in DC.

How do you square your idea that 'no dissent was allowed' for support of Clinton with the fact that they spent more time reporting on her email server than all policy positions of the two candidates combined?

Does that sound like support to you?

My, aren't you a ray of sunshine!

Off topic, but the answer is I, and half the voters in this country, didn't vote for Trump as much as against HRC and the establishment. Believe me I held my nose when I checked his box!

You mean Republicans, after years of being told the media is biased (with no proof), now actually believe it?

From what you linked to in a section titled "Republicans Fuel Drop in Media Trust".

While it is clear Americans' trust in the media has been eroding over time, the election campaign may be the reason that it has fallen so sharply this year. With many Republican leaders and conservative pundits saying Hillary Clinton has received overly positive media attention, while Donald Trump has been receiving unfair or negative attention, this may be the prime reason their relatively low trust in the media has evaporated even more. It is also possible that Republicans think less of the media as a result of Trump's sharp criticisms of the press. Republicans who say they have trust in the media has plummeted to 14% from 32% a year ago. This is easily the lowest confidence among Republicans in 20 years.

Not sure what that has to do with smug or biased media (thread title).

It has everything to do with the reply I replied to. Welcome to internet forum threads

The irony of your Reagan quote is awesome.

Maybe, but completely irrelevant to my post.

You still voted for a racist, misogynist creep. Nothing changes that.

Like follows like I suppose.

100% relevant

Identity politics didn't work, perhaps it's time to move on to something that has some traction.

And white people are super pissed about it!

Interestingly enough, nobody called Obama a racist when he got 80% of the black vote.

Why is that interesting? Trump is referred to as a racist based on his numerous racist statements and actions, not on the percentage of whites that voted for him.

Actually they did and many people, like you, continued to remind everyone how Obama got 80% of the black vote. What you idiots don't realize its that he did slightly better then what Democrats normally do.

You know, losing the USSC for decades would give some people cause to stop and reflect before doubling down on what got us here, but hey, go for it.
