Good point that you're easily deranged/stupid/brainwashed by right wing agitprop.

Are you denying that Mao and Stalin killed more than Hitler or that moderates (that's me btw) can see that the left is far more intolerant of democracy?

Had Clinton won, the Republicans would just have accepted it and moved on. You can't move on because you can't accept democracy.

I'm saying that fair and balanced types just parrot what they're told. As such, they're in no position to argue historical claims they'll never understand anyway.

Christian was a participant in the April 29 "March for Free Speech" on 82nd Avenue in Montavilla. He posted an OregonLive video of the event to his Facebook page, referencing himself as "the Lizard King" as he walked among fellow protesters holding American flags and "Trump Make America Great Again" flags.

Portland police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said Saturday morning police are "familiar with the (April 29) incident," and that "certainly the detectives will be looking into his background."

Ahahahaha!! As if 8 years of obstruction from literally day one wasn't planned and implemented by Republicans.

You are an idiot not a moderate if you believe that bullshit you just posted.

You're right. He evolves from a full on Bernie supporter to a Trump supporter. From a person who decries racism to a person who posts racist memes.

Whoa.

Whoa.

Trumps rhetoric shaped his weak mind.

Wouldn't be surprised. I've seen a couple of high-profile Bernie supporters who switched to Trump. Really, that shift reveals the hollowness of their political beliefs: they're not interested in the actual policies (Bernie is diametrically opposed to Trump), they just latch on to the populist candidate du jour.

OR, it reveals the need amongst a large portion of the population for a radical change because they perceive the system itself is broken beyond repair and needs to be replaced, at any cost.

Many conservatives lie about their affiliation due to its damage brand image.

What a coincidence the high race resentment crowd choose to replace it with the mexican rapists guy.

I'm confused what that has to do with (what I thought to be) the point of your post: "high-profile Bernie supporters who switched to Trump" and "populist candidate(s)" ?

Confusion appears the right description since 1. I didn't post that, and 2. my point was every study on the matter shows the key differentiator for Trump fans is race resentment, which is probably not what you're referring to by "perceive the system itself is broken beyond repair and needs to be replaced".

You are 100% correct, my mistake. You did not post that.

Your point is well taken.

I'd say "and," not "or." They want change, but they don't actually know what change they want. It's the political equivalent of a crying baby -- they want someone to make it all okay, but it's not clear what okay is. And whoever tells them it'll be okay gets their attention, even if it's nothing but a lie to keep them quiet.

The problem, as we're quickly finding out, is that Trump not only isn't the bringer of meaningful change... what change he's bringing is almost exclusively for the worse. Don't like career politicians heading departments? Well, now you have greedy business people and clueless elites, many of whom want to undermine the work of the departments they run. Hate how politicians lie? Imagine a politician so insecure that he'll tell obvious lies virtually every day, even over trivial things like his inauguration size. Don't like the corrupting influence of money on politics? You're likely experiencing the most corrupt administration in American history, where even the President is obviously interested more in personal profit than the good of the country.

The annoying part is not knowing whether or not any of these people will be wiser at the end of it. They may vote Trump and the Republicans out of power, but this may just be another reactionary swing. I wouldn't be surprised if they make the same mistake the next time another sweet-talker comes by.

I understand democracy just fine. What that has to do with your original point and my counterpoint, I have no idea but I feel I'm not dealing with an honest poster anyway.

so you voted for Trump, I guess you're proud.

(just kidding, maybe...yes, I understand the sentiment, but it's an idiotic choice, nonetheless, knowing the facts at the time, regardless of "principles")

Scum like this almost make me rethink my opposition to the death penalty. LWOP is too good for cold-blooded murderers, imo.

The problem for me is with the indeterminate definition of "alt-right." I'm nominally right of center, so it seems plausible that big broad brush is coming for me, and guilt by association will soon have me hanging from the same tree.

A missed opportunity, perhaps, to bring more like me into the fold to actively condemn an extremist shitbag. Instead, I've been ignoring this thread because of its prejudicial title.

So they voted for the person and political party who would do more of the same? Lol Bernie and trump supporters are a different side of the same coin.

Duped again, I see. Par for the course. This guy was a true Bernout, and the mainstream media caused some irreparable mental damage, so he started trolling Trump supporters. He was thrown out of Trump rallies by Trump supporters, but since he pretended to be a Trump supporter the media latched onto it because of their agenda against President Trump.

NO, THERE WASN’T AN ANTI-MUSLIM DOUBLE MURDER ON A PORTLAND TRAIN

“Get off the bus, and get out of the country because you don’t pay taxes here,” Christian yelled at the women.

Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland Police added the suspect appeared to be acting erratically, and wasn’t necessarily focused on anti-Muslim insults during the attack.

What's that old saying? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me daily, that's just the mainstream media." Or something like that.
