I'm actually not happy he's sabotaging his own campaign, because I'd like to think he's siphoning off lunatics that would otherwise vote for Trump.

Of course, I should know by now never to underestimate the....ability...of the American public to do dumb things.

That pic is horrific. In a sane world that would be an instant 'dropping out of the race' bombshell, but then so should being a goddamn anti-vaxer.

Because his running mate is a Californian. Can't have president and VP from the same state per the Constitution
Close, but not quite correct. You can have a President and VP from the same state. It would just be that the electors from California could not vote for both President and VP in that case (they would have to choose to vote for one or the other and I would assume that they would vote for the popularly elected president and a random VP). Normally it wouldn't matter. But in a close election, there is a chance that the President and VP could end up being from different political parties if the California electors couldn't vote for both.

Note: the chance of the California electors having to do this is slim, since I can't fathom a scenario when RFK wins California while also having a political race close enough to matter.

I do find it interesting that the normal methods of residence determination weren't used. Simply put: where do the important documents like bills get mailed? If that is ambiguous, of the choices left, where does the cell phone with GPS reside most.

The problem would be if the EC count were closer than the total # of electors for the state in question. In that case, the VP wouldn't have enough EC votes to be the winner.

Exactly. In that case, the House votes. So it would then be RFK President with probably the House voting Vance as VP.

But did he originally list his home to be in NYS or was this a recent change? I’m assuming it’s always been
For some of his petitions to get onto the ballot, he claims NYS is his home. But he doesn't maintain a real residence. His attempts to cover this up to show a history of residency were pretty flimsy.

Man he actually rented a room. Unlike the senator from Kansas several years ago that claimed a recliner at a friends house as his “residence “.
Did he, though?
Barbara Moss, who rents the room to Kennedy, testified that he pays her $500 a month. But she acknowledged there is no written lease and that Kennedy’s first payment wasn’t made until after the New York Post published a story casting doubt on Kennedy’s claim that he lived at that address.

The worm told him did.

My comment was having a room wasn't enough to convince a New York judge but Kansas was just fine with the "recliner at a friends house" being enough to establish residence. Both were obviously full of shit.

I just thought it was funny, "he's renting a room here, there's just no lease and he didn't start paying me until the story hit the papers".

Well, it’s cryin’ time again, you’re gonna leave me

You got that far away look in your eyes…

Nicole Shanahan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate who has invested millions of dollars of her fortune into the independent bid, said she recognized that their long-shot ticket was unlikely to win the White House this November.

But as for this campaign, Shanahan blamed the Democratic Party and PACs aligned with the party for neutering the Kennedy campaign.

“They have, unfortunately, turned us into a spoiler,” she said. “And we don’t want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot. The DNC made that impossible for us.”

Why on earth would she think that the DNC would be supportive of another party or independent in the race? That's stupid. The DNC exists to help Democrats win.

I guess the DNC wasn’t supposed to run any sort of campaign against him? I found that statement from her to be profoundly stupid. Guess they are butthurt the DNC spurned their overtures. Lol!

"We are taking a very serious look at making sure the people that have corrupted our fair and free democracy do not end up in office in November," Shanahan said."The question is, you know, is the risk of a Harris-Walz presidency worth us staying in?" she continued. "And that's the question we have to ask ourselves right now. One: Do we trust Trump and his personal sincerity to really do the right thing for our country, end chronic disease, balance the budget, end these forever wars. Is he somebody that's going to continue to invite people like Bobby and I into the conversation, or is he going to fall victim again to the things he fell victim to in his first administration?"

This shit is hilarious. Really you can just cut it off after "Do we trust Trump", you don't have to have a worm eat part of your brain to trust Trump, but at least then you've got an excuse. Personal sincerity? Does she know absolutely NOTHING about the man?
