READ THIS IT WILL BOGGLE YOU MIND!

There is a link at the bottom that substantiates this email!

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and
one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil
does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more
than all the Middle East put together.
" Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and
extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe
Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign
oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,
we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a
formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and
into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead
end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up
the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500
billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one
should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of
people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION
barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in
the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think
again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just
might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------
By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

You could have all of the oil in the world but if you cannot harvest it because of the environmentalists.........

why harvest it when we get to use up everyone elses?

Well there is some truth to that idea. As long as we keep how much we really have a secret from others then I agree it is better to use other's sources to an extent and save ours. How much and where you would draw the line would really be the only disagreement.

what does it matter if we keep it a secret?

They built their entire economy on giving us their oil for our paper. Why would that stop?

Yeah, the problem with shale is it's hard to get all the needed hydrocarbons out of. It takes a lot to refine it into gasoline, but I believe they can make diesel out of it rather "easy" and "cheaper." It would work wonders if they would actually make a zero-sulfur low emissions diesel hybrid.

Shouldn't we implement a conservitard e-mail forward blocker on these forums.

Not just that I don't understand why it says trillion barrels of shale when it should be tons not barrels. You don't really measure shale in barrels until after it's been refined into something "usable"

The Bakken is slowly becoming more popular due to newer hydraulic fracturing techniques. Due to the Bakken's low porosity (10%) and perm (.05 md), and that each well has to be horizontal and fraced, it isn't quite as enticing to major oil companies as they can get higher ultimate recoveries in the gulf

Well - we sorta have more oil than the Middle East. I mean, it's just floating along . . .

Sorry, it had to be said.

We need to rid these states of weapons of mass destruction and "rape rooms." Once we bring them democracy, there will be peace in the region.

Trust me, they will welcome us as liberators.

The link is from a .gov domain.

When did the US government become a source of chain e-mails?

You trust the government? The government has to be small enough to not be able to afford servers!!!

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! WHY IS OBAMA NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THE OIL LEAK USING HIS DEEP-DIVING TEAM OF NINJA ENGINEERS?

I HATE TAXES!

Do you think the oil Exxon drills in Alaska all goes to the US for domestic consumption?
Hell no, that oil goes to the highest bidder on the market, be it USA, Japan or Canada.

Fact:
The US imported 12,029 thousand barrels of crude oil/petroleum products last week.
The US exported 1,785 thousand barrels of crude oil/petroleum products last week.

The notion that all oil in the US is produced for domestic consumption is nothing short of idiocy.

Mercedes and other companies already have some great diesel cars out there.

They use UREA tanks that drastically reduce emissions by Diesel cars.

Combine that with the fact that they get quite a bit better gas mileage and you have a great solution.

It isn't a PERFECT SOLUTION which is what most environmentalists want before they actually agree something is a good idea, but it is a damn good solution.

1. Total amount recoverable is not flow rate.
There could be a bazillion barrels recoverable but if you can only recover it at 1 million barrels a day you still have to purchase from foreign sources. Think drinking from a pool with a straw.

2. Amount recoverable says noting about dollar cost of recovery.
If it costs 150 a barrel to recover the oil you would still be better off purchasing the oil from other sources at today's rate.

3. Amount recoverable says nothing about the energy cost.
If it takes a barrel of oil energy equivalent to recover a barrel of you've ended up no better than before.

4. The link you gave says 4.4 billion barrels. The U.S. uses 20 million barrels a day. Assuming you could get the flow rate (see point 1), you would have reserves for a whopping 220 days.

5. Using your non sourced recovery value of 50 billion barrels and assuming points 1, 2 and 3 don't matter, you would have 2500 days of oil, or 6.9 years.

i dont believe this, but our relationship with saudi arabia is based on the fact that they can deliver us oil in a moment's notice.

they are one of the few oil producing states with the capacity to increase or decrease a supply within days.

this level of control is very important of an energy-hungry state like the US.

d-d-d-d-d-did I say that? no. Strategically use up everyone elses and in 100 years when its all gone we can use our oil for ourselves. Fuck the global markets come the last remaining oil on the planet, its ours :sneaky:
