The United states in Bible prophecy....

I have heard it said the United states is nowhere to be seen or heard of in Bible prophecy.

I have also heard it said the the United states is aluded to in many passages in Revelations. Primarily as being destroyed in the early stages of Armeggedon.

I have also heard it said by supposed Blble Scholars that the United states will be hit by iether a Nuclear disaster or multiple nautural disasters that will over whelm our economy and thus take us off the world stage so to speak as a super power.

Any ideas or suppositions......

prophecy, smophecy. No. Such. Thing. People love to look back at supposed'prophecy' and say, yep, that applies to what happened last week/month/year. And as whatever happened most recently is in the memory better, of 'course' it 'must' apply to this event. If it worked, then someone, somewhere, somewhen would have solved even 1 of them prior to it occuring, and that isnt the case. And furthermore, fortelling the future like that would mean that there is no free will, and we are all on a set track sence the begining of time. It also would mean no good or evil in any form, so i doubt you will find many who really belive in it

Assuming you believe in all of that, why is it necessary for the USA to be mentioned in prophecy? Why would it have to have anything to do with the end of the world at all? Aren't most of the prophetic biblical references dealing with Isreal, and even then as a people more than as a sovreign state? I'm just curious how the connection is warranted. I mean, the Bible doesn't mention all sorts of other things that are known to exist and it's followers don't fault it for that, nor should they as it would be irrelevant to the point, IMHO.

If you're going to spout prophecies from the bible, you should read the bible and make your own conclusions rather than listening to whackjobs.

Iran wouldn't last 5 minutes in any kind of nuclear exchange with the US. Not trying to be jingoistic, but facts are facts.

Do they even have ICBM's? And nuclear attacks aside, they are within range of Israel's bombers, not to mention half the world away from our mainland. But I'd better start packing, because we're getting wiped out, or so I've heard.

I don't think anybody really believes they have ICBM's. The general consensus IIRC is that they don't even have a functioning nuclear weapon yet. The real concern is that if they ever do they'll give it someone who will use it in the region, or smuggle it to the US somehow. But in any kind of open, armed conflict they don't really pose a serious threat.
