Personally, I think it is quite typical of us Americans to assume that we are important enough to be in the Bible.

I have heard it said the United states is nowhere to be seen or heard of in Bible prophecy.
I have also heard it said the the United states is aluded to in many passages in Revelations. Primarily as being destroyed in the early stages of Armeggedon.
I have also heard it said by supposed Blble Scholars that the United states will be hit by iether a Nuclear disaster or multiple nautural disasters that will over whelm our economy and thus take us off the world stage so to speak as a super power.
Any ideas or suppositions......
I should care more about what the bible says, it's written by God for men...
Fixed. Read it. Good book.

The Bible - King James Version
Rev 12:4 - And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
The Bible talks about dragons pulling a third part of the universe down to earth. I'm not a betting man, but I'm pretty sure that's not how the earth will end. That being said, The Bible has as much insight into the future as a Peter Pan book.

You seem a little bitter.
Well, if you think about it, the Book of Revelation was just one of a number of writings in the category of "apocalyptic literature." This one happened to get into the Christian canon because the dominant early Christian group (the proto-Orthodox) found it to be close to their own beliefs in many ways. Still, though, the book itself was more of a "hang in there" message to the 7 Asia Minor churches mentioned. It's clear that a lot of the symbolism points to the Romans, who at the time were, by and large, persecuting Christians for their faith. The horns on the Beast of Babylon, for example, are indicative of emperors (Nero being the reigning one in Revelations), and the Whore of Babylon is Rome itself, "drunk on the blood of the martyrs (persecuted christians). Also, there are a lot of inconsistencies in the text itself - for example, the stars and sun are destroyed with the breaking of the sixth seal, but the world goes on (there are seven seals). This, obviously, is impossible.
In sum, Revelation is but one of innumerable apocalyptic texts, and really cannot be seen as any sort of accurate or likely prediction of the nature of the end times.
Just my $0.02.

Thats what I figured except for a few of you most of you don`t have a clue or totally don`t and will never read the Bible...
I guess this subject was wat over most peoples heads!!
I would rather live my life as if there were a GOD and a Heaven.
Rather than live my life as if there were not a God or a Heaven and come to find out there was a God and I was totally screwed.
Have a good evening!!
