Ok I've been looking at the abit ultra with the passive cooling. It looks pretty sweet and all but seeing Abit's financial state makes me wonder if they will be around to support the mobo. etc.

No, I don't say abit=gone. Another rumor says that AT8 will be released soon.
If you have reasons to stick to ABIT, you may wait. Otherwise, there are many good boards available today.Originally posted by: harobikes333
So should I wait for that to come out...?

If you like passive cooling, then buy a NF4 board and replace the NB fan by Zalman ZM-NB47J. If you don't stick to NF4, then a GeForce 6150 board (for example MSI K8NGM2-FID) is a good passive cooling board that may be even better than NF4.Originally posted by: harobikes333
I have no reason over any other mobo brand.... I just liked the passive cooling. Seeing that the new AM2 socket is coming out though in one month I think I'll wait before I go ahead and buy my 939 socket parts. Then the price may be lower?
Except for 8 USB vs 10 USB, GeForce 6150 is equivalent to NF4 Ultra in performance. It is even better in stability and reliability, plus onboard GPU.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile
I thought the 6150 boards were lesser boards compared to NF4Ultra?
Wrong. Besides separated NB & SB and integrated GPU, there are other differences:Originally posted by: BoomAM
lol. The 6150 boards ARE NF4U boards, just with an intergrated video chip.

If you don't need extra USB and PCI-E lanes, GeForce 6150 is better.
- Audio (HDA+AC'97 vs AC'97)
- USB (8 vs 10)
- PCI-E lanes (16x1+1x1 vs 16x1+1x3)
Wrong again. GeForce 6150 supports High-Definition Audio. The left side of "vs" is for GeForce 6150 and the right side for NF4U. This is clear from the "Audio" part. I wrote 8 USB for 6150 and 10 USB for NF4U, and 1 PCI-E x 1 lane for 6150 and 3 PCI-E x 1 lanes for NF4U. Everything is crystal clear. It seems that you lack the ability to read English correctly.Originally posted by: BoomAM
The audio aspect isnt decided by the chipset, its decided by the extra ICs that manufactueres add.
The NF4 chipset, all of them, support 10 USB2 channels. Its upto the manufacturer to decide how many to implement.
PCI-E lanes, im sorry your wrong there, you cant have a 3 lane PCI-E slot. Of course, your not entirely clear there, so if you want to reword that bit, then we can decide if your incorrect or not.
GeForce 6150 is better in that it comes with GPU and HD audio if you dont' need extra USB and PCI-E x1. The assumption is the "if" part, "If you don't need extra USB and PCI-E lanes" ("you" is a generic person). Needless to say, this does not imply at all that I am assuming that everyone has the same needs as me. Again you seem to lack the ability to understand a conditional statement. As for 'better'. Your asuming that everyone has the same needs as you.
I am sorry if my writing looked confrontational and aggravated you. I just wanted to correct imprecise statement.Originally posted by: BoomAM
dont be so confrontational. It achieves nothing. Agrovates people,

Im afriad your gonna have to agree to disagree with me here.Wrong again. GeForce 6150 supports High-Definition Audio. The left side of "vs" is for GeForce 6150 and the right side for NF4U. 1.Dont start getting offensive and arsey just because i dont agree with your viewpoints.GeForce 6150 is better in that it comes with GPU and HD audio if you dont' need extra USB and PCI-E x1. Sorry to say that, but you are clearly wrong to say that:Originally posted by: BoomAM

I simply pointed out your false logical thinking. I have nothing offensive in mind. Again the statement:Originally posted by: BoomAM

2. Having an integrated GPU doesnt make the board better at all. It just means it has a integrated GPU, which to alot of enthusiasts, would be a waste of time & money.
