The memory was set at 796MHz but it was pig slow. The everest memory read was 2000MB/s slower than I was at fsb of 400! On the 0502 beta bios, anyone know if it changed the vdroop any or is that something that can only be done with a hardware mod?

Bring the memory speed up. Try 850, 900, 1000, 1020MHZ

I did the biosupgrade in windows, luckily it didn't crash and the board survived. Right now I'm running Orthos @ 3.15GHz. It seems that this chip has alot of potential. I uped voltage to 1.45V Temperature around 54C on both cores using Speedfan to check temp.

Please, don't use Windows to flash your bios. It's to risky

Ok, so I am not officially stable yet at 3.5 but am dual superpi/orthos 20min no errors stable :b My ram is giving me problems, it's rated at 533 but it won't boot above 650, even though I've clocked it to 750 before on a different board. It doesn't boot OC'ed with lax timings or auto settings. When it boots on auto settings, stock speeds it wacks out my tRAS to 31. Not sure why it does this...

Anyway, I am thoroughly satisfied with this board. I'll just have to invest in some better ram and/or wait until a better bios gets released.

Ok, fixed the ram issue. Apparently this ram will not boot above 2.2volts. Running it at 2.1 and it clocks to 750. I'm satisfied.

For some reason it will not let me flash this bios. I tried the flash using the utility in the bios and I get a message saying Downgraded Rom is not suitable for system. I tried to flash from a floppy and it reads the filename and then exits the flash utility. Any ideas what I can do to get flashed to 0502? I had 0307 and I flashed to 0401 using the same floppy utility and it is fine.

Don't use it. Wait till there is more info on this beta. A downgrade in ROM is not to my liking. I will remove my post.

Is anyone using the new Nvidia drivers I read about earlier? If so, what problems/triumphs did you have? After reading this forum for over a month
and a half I have FINALLY gotten my system up and running--FULLY Stable. )
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU HERE!!!! You have been an invaluable resource. Hopefully,
I can return the favor to someone else soon.

Ok, I got my system, BIOS 0401, Corsair XMS2 PC6400C4, just installed Vista, and I get blue screens or lockups at the performance test, update installs, loading the user profile, etc.

I tired manuall setting RAM to 4-4-4-12-1T, then auto 5-5-5-18-1T, and now I am in Vista looking at CPU-Z, and it says I am set at 5-5-5-18-1T, but the SPD page shows 4-4-4-12-2T.

I also have tried with all voltage at auto, and then at 1.920 (the only option under 2).

ideas?

I'm not sure if u can used 1T command. Try to set it 2T instead. Do you have lockup in standard speed? Try using the black slots if u aren't. If nothing helps try to up ddr2 voltage a notch.

I haven't tried it. My system has been running great and I didn't feel a need for it yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Set timings manual to manufactures spec or 5-5-5-12 2T or 4-4-4-12 2T the rest auto and make sure the Command per Clock is not in 1T set it to 2 clocks unless you know what your doing
Set the ram voltage to manufactures spec voltage 1.92 - 2.0 should boot
With those Corsair XMS2 PC6400C4 you can try 2.01 - 2.08
Try putting your ram in the black slots only if you still have problems
NB voltage 1.2 should work to boot 1.39 or higher if overclocking
Run MemTest86 v1.7 http://www.memtest.org/ to check ram for errors

I have a problem to get the board stable. Trying to OC my E4300, but the vcore is jumping up and down. The vdroop is bad on this board. Now trying 8x387.5=3.1GHz @ 1.42V. Under load it drops to 1.36V.

List all your setting and system in your sig. Are you manually setting voltages? Timings? Ram? ram voltages?

I enetered my timings at 5-5-5-15 relaxed from 4-4-4-12 from what they are rated at btw. That was way befor ei started getting blue screens and restarts.

Are these them. Wide range of voltages don't you think?

This was posted on Newegg with that ram I suggest you look at the labels on that ram. If that post is correct there definitely a Wide range of voltages to try.

Pros: Very fast RAM and stable at overclocking.

Cons: The sticker on the RAM says 1.9-2.4 volts, not 1.8-2.3 like Newegg says.

Other Thoughts: Works great in Biostar T-Force 965PT despite this board being very picky about the RAM you use. I highly recommend the mobo and this RAM together.

Yes it basically is them, But its not my memory being overclocked at all. It was fine until about 3days ago, thats what makes me thinks its a hardware problem.

And these are my ram.
http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-057-GL

They've dropped in price well loads.

Yes there is a wide rang of voltages. But how do i know its my ram. My ram is one of the things thats been fine all along.
Im pretty sure its my motherbaord or CPU, my CPU tempretures have gone crazy over the last couple of days also, very high under no load with a TT120.
Like hover 40*c at idle on 2.6Ghz when it used to be 35*c Idle at 2.94Ghz. Could it be that?

GeIL is proud to announced DDR2 800MHz, PC6400 800MHz supports CAS 4-4-4-12 with 1GB and 2GB Dual Channel Kits. These Ultra modules are hand picked for maximum FSB overclocking potential.

PC6400 800MHz CAS 4-4-4-12
- 64x8 DDR2 BGA Chips
- 240pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM
- Aluminum Heat-spreader
- 6 Layers Ultra Low Noises Shielded PCB
- Lifetime Warranty
- 1.9V-2.3V Power Supply

Look at the voltages 1.9 - 2.3. You still have to test your ram for errors to rule them out. Your guessing that it's the board without doing any tests. With that wide range of voltages you'd have to test them all. What is your FSB/Ram ratio 1:1 when you were OC??

Re-seat the HSF with some good paste. I had talked to you in the beginning about how important cooling was if you were going to overclock this board. Have you taken any measures to cool the NB and SB since then?

I have re-sat my heatisnk twice now. Both with AS5. Its dont its job, jsut gone crazy lately? Can't see how it can need re-seating again. Yes i have, i bought that fan and heatisnk that was suggested earlier. I still couldnt get any higher, so that was a waste of money.
I also put another fan on the side of my case, this was a high CFM fan as well. Yet nothing has helped.

I didnt run a 1:1 Ratio becuase it wouldnt boot with it at all. Not even a post.

i also ran memtest after i was stuck at 2.9Ghz, my ram had no errors what so ever, whyw ould they suddenly creep up now?
