When i change multipliers to maximize my e6400 speed, the best i can get is 3300MHz (472x7) @ 1.45V.

Of the few bios available for this board, which do you think is best?

0401 helped me out a lot for overclocking. Haven't tried 0505.

I see that these super talent t800ux2gc4
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820609026
have the d9 chips on them.

anyone know what chips are on these super talent t800ub1gc5?
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820609019

I have two of the t800ub1gc5 and they seem to work great. I get 4 3 3 9 16 with ~2v but I'm currently only running it at 667mhz. I havn't tried higher with those timings but plan to. Just wondered if these sticks are the d9 chips too or not. I read somewhere that super talent doesn't distribute that info.

My sticks aren't on that list. Anyone know about these sticks?

I have those in my system. I am able to run them at 800 no prob. 4-4-4-12. Have been stable with 1T for the past week or so.

The only differnce is I paid $30 more! Seriously considering acting on this deal and going to 4gb total, but concerned with all the four stick problems I have been reading.

I highly doubt that there would be any changes to the 0505 bios without a change to its version number. As 0505 doesn't save user changes to the CPU multiplier, it is a flawed bios that was rightfully taken down from the website. Just wait for the next version which will likely come out sooner rather than later due to that bug.

Hi folks, I am having minor issues in the grand scheme of things.

with this board (0401 bios), I have D805 oc at 3.6 (720fbs Qpumped)

also buffalo 2x1gb 8000 running at 720mhz 3-3-3-7 1T 2.1xxV

anyways, I can get the memory running at 1008 with 5-5-5-10 2T and any thing higher the mobo would still recognize as 1008 until 1080mhz.

At 1080mhz, I tried loosening the timing to 5-5-5-15 2T at 2.1Vxx then at 2.35Vxx

completely unstable at this timing and voltage. I am curious if it is the mobo holding the ram back or not...and if so, I wonder if the new bios would solve this...or when I upgrade to a E6300 or something like that..... just thinking that the ram should be able to OC to 1080 at loose timings...

edit: also tried the black slots and same results

anyone have any thoughts or insights? any would be great! thanks!

People have reported that the board won't take RAM clocks over 1000. Presumably will be addressed in a BIOS update.

Ok, I basically followed the guide on page 92.

I got to 375 x 8 = 3 GHz no problem, then had to start fiddling. I've tested 7 hours orthos stable at 3 GHz, and I'm into an hour at 3.1 now. Unfortunately CPU-Z says my RAM gets taken down to 387.5 at this speed, I guess I can't get a 31:32 ratio.

Vcore: 1.4V (Vdroop 0.04-0.07)
Vdimm: 2.08V
NB: 1.56V

I'm trying to get 400 FSB for 1:1 timings with my RAM, but it's giving me real trouble.

I've tried pushing the Vcore up in steps to 1.45, and I've tried loosening RAM timings to 5-5-5-15. No matter what, my system hangs within the first minute of orthos at this speed. Core temps currently at about 55 degrees. They were higher after 7 hours at 3 GHz, about 63, but I think the ambient temp has dropped since then.

Any tips on how to achieve 400 x 8 = 3.2 GHz?

Try Vcore 1.28 - 1.32 the NB Auto 1600/800 unlinked

In this test they topped out at 1100MHz 5-5-5-15 2.35v

I have had mine to 1143MHz so it's doable. Could be the ram, slots, or voltage ( try Auto). Make sure the ram is seated well. What FSB are you using and are you linked or unlinked?

dang...tried auto, 2.35v...tried different slots, all black slots....was linked, unlinked...tried 5-5-5-15, 5-5-5-18.... wouldnt do it...

even upgraded to 0505 bios today...nada...

well that sucks...these sticks are supposed to be great overclockers with Micron D9GKX (B6-25E)...

maybe the sticks...gonna see if I can RMA them...truely disappointed at them moment...thanks for the help.

What voltages are you people using to get over 3.2 ghz on your cpu's?I need to pump 1.525 to my e4300 to be stable at that speed, and that's just to much.Cooling the northbridge gets me to 1450 FSB(3.26 ghz),but that requires 1.5v,and above 1520 FSB I can't even boot to Windows no matter what multiplier I use.Could better CPU cooler (Ninja perhaps) be of any help with this issue, and how much does thermalright's hr-05 for the northbridge helps with overclocking?

mine boots on 1555 (3,3ghz)@1,5V Cpu and 1,57V NB. Windows runs fine(ish)... but Orthos crashes after a couple of minutes. Stock cooling on cpu/chipset (but 6x80mm case fans). Time to beef up the cooling power...

How do you guys mount fans on the NB heatsink? Super glue? What size fans fit?

EDIT: On another note, my HDD activity light is on all the time. Since about yesterday. This mobo has serious issues Anyone had that problem?

My e6400 is now stable (5 hours in orthos and counting) at 400 x 8 under 1.456V (in the BIOS, vdroop is ~0.08V). Northbridge on auto...but I previously had to set it to 1.76V to get near this FSB, so I suspect it's still up there.

RAM timings at 4-4-4-12-1T. I've never tweaked the CAS latencies before, anyone have any tips for me?

I'd be happy enough at 4-4-4-12-1T to be honest. Any gains you'll get will be minimal

1555 FSB would give you 3.5 ghz not 3.3,right?What temps do you get at 1555 FSB?As for the fan 70 mm fits perfectly. What is your max Orthos stable frequency?

my bad...

max stable orthos is 1464 (3,3Ghz)... but i need to set NB @1,57V, and after a couple of hours the stock heatsing gets hot. I mean 1st degree burns HOT. So prolly not a good idea to keep it that way. Gonna pick up a fan for the NB tomorrow.

BTW. My PSU is a thing of wonder. I have no idea how come it's stable at ANY frequency, when my rig is equipped with a graphics board that requires 450W PSU and min 23A on the 12V rail.

what's your vcore for 1464?
