I am already there.

Should I work on the HT or MEM or both at the same time to calculate the 1:1 ratio?

at 1600 synched 1:1 should be 800mhz ddr2 if i remember correctly. so you should now be able to just go in and say linked-synch-1:1

Uhh... Nobody's going to upload and post a link to the 0401 bios?

Send it to me. I'll host it: dlxmax at hotmail

OK, I'm taking the plunge. I know I need to go slow and take small steps to hit the right marks, but what is a good starting point?

initially i would say just leave mem unlinked at 800mhz, then increase fsb from 1066 to 1200 and +100 when you think that is stable. around when it becomes unstable i would up NB to 1.39. if still unstable up vcore a couple of ticks.

Ok, thanks, I think I starting to get the gist of this, sorry for being a total noob. Thanks for helping out.

That took it to 2.1GHz

no problem at all, now i would say try 1300fsb. mem should stay unlinked at 800mhz. if that seems stable try 1400.... etc. those e6300 are some great OC'ers.

I figured out the problem. I selected it to save optimal defaults when I added the new bios and it made my memory 1T and it kept crashing. Set it back to 2T and now I'm good.

Am I going to run into any problems if I don't load the Audio or Raid drivers if I'm not using Raid or my onboard Audio (disabled).

shouldn't be an issue at all. i used to use my add on pci as well with my previous nvidia mobo and it wasn't a problem. best to turn it off in bios though just to prevent any issues.

VCOM Partition Commander

i have used it in the past. the ghost limitation is just that it works for 15 days. it's supposed to be fully functional during the trial period.

this supposedly works as well and is functional for 15 days

True Image

Well I'm doing a lot better now, Thanks to Ryan
Excellent program cloned my drive in three min flat

I've worked it up to 2625 (375.1 X 7) and seems stable ( I have only changed the FSB, everything else is still stock). The temperatures have gone up a little. I have run Orthos a couple times after I increased the FSB and it runs with no errors. One thing I did notice is the core temps on my last run (@2.4GHz) went up to 56 degrees Celsius. Is this high or normal?

Going to lunch with the wife and will run Orthos while I'm gone. It will be about 1 1/2 hours.

i wouldn't worry until the upper 60's but thats just me. my old 6800gt would get that hot just in windows desktop.

CPU temps and Video Card temps are totally different things. It's my understanding that you don't want to run your CPU much hotter than the low 60's.

Has anyone successfully got the P5N-E to boot with all 4 sticks of memory in, with the new BIOS?

I RMAd my P5N-e and am getting a replacement next week. I have 4x1GB of Crucial Ballistix -- previously the board would only boot with all 4 if you linked the memory and ran it below 800 MHz.

Good question, guess it's time to test the yellow slots!
