Nevermind I finally seem to have Speedfan working. I upgraded to 0401 BIOS. I've had 2 freezes though in XP. I had SLI memory enabled though so disabled it to see if I still get any freezes. Do I need to lower the fan setting to 70% to get it to work properly?

Core1 I saw your post about you had to modify the Arctic Freezer to fit without hitting the Northbridge heatsink. Can you tell me how you did that? I have one on order and all I have is some pincers. Will they do?

To fit it to blow out the back of the case. You have to trim the fan housing in the lower left hand corner with a heated knife or I used a hack saw blade and bend up the bottom fin up slightly to clear the NB its easy. pincers?????

Mine is usually at 40% and if the temp reaches 38c it kicks in to a 100% same with my other two case fans. Make sure your ram it not running 1T and that you set it to spec

Oh so the fan housing being plastic needs a trim on the bottom corner right? OK if that's the case so be it. Just so I know. Hope it's not too fiddly a job

TVU Player's great. Lots of American stations, and occasionally someone will pop up a new station for a special event, like the widescreen version of the Superbowl. However, some stations that used to be there disappeared due to complaints from the station, like CNN and HBO. You might be able to find baseball using www.TVAnts.com, which is another app that often has much higher quality video. But most of their programming is Chinese. And the website is Chinese, but it's not difficult to figure out how to download the app, which is also in English.

Previous attempts to get my ram stable at 1T all resulted in failure. I think I'll give it a shot again today. Just bumped up the timings to 4-4-4-12 1T at 816mhz (was stable at 4-3-3-3 2T @ 816) and am running Memtest86+ now. Yup, test #4 just gave some errors, at the upper part of the 2gb. Looks like the memory kept some bits from the previous pass and didn't change to the new data. I think I might be able to tweak that out... Ok, today I will achieve 1T.

Yeah I already did that. Not sure why SLI would make it freeze honestly.

Do you think they run Bruce Lee reruns??

i was planning on adding zalman chipset heatsink to the southbridge since once is absent.

thanks

I only added a 20mm. Unless you plan on doing extreme voltage increases on the NB, a 20-40mm fan should suffice with the stock heatsink. I have a Zalman ZM on my SB. Check out post #92 for oc'ing information.

thanks alot okc  . that'll make my job alot easier.

John ( Core2 ),
Thanks so much for your help dood with the CMD set to 2T I was able get the OS installed and running, but no I am having some more issues. When I try and run games or even install them the computer just shuts them down randomly. No crashes, no blue screens, just a program termination. Nothing I have on the computer is overclocked at all everything is at factory settings except for the 4-4-4-12 timings and the 2T CMD, and the voltage setting to 2.178V. My mobo temp was 45 C according to the BIOS temp reading and the CPU was at 35 C. The memory and certain places on the board feel pretty hot, but if it was an overheating issue the comp would crash completely, wouldn't it? So is there something else with the memory timing or something in the BIOS with the memory that I have to change for my memory? Please let me know! Thanks again for getting me up and running just like you promised earlier!

Try increasing/decreasing that mem voltage 1 notch to see if that makes any difference. At least for my memory, it would start giving me more errors once I applied more than 2.08V, oddly enough. If that doesn't work, see if making the timings 5-5-5-15-2T works. If it does, start tightening them until it gets unstable again.

We nearly have the same setup. How hot is your RAM getting? I could barely touch mine at 975MHzish 5-4-4-15 2T. I cannot run EPP rating of 4-4-4-15 1T with the board set to default FSB etc...

G Skill 2 x 1 GB @ 800 with 4-4-4-12 timing Which ones? What model? Most of the G.Skill PC6400 are rated 1.8 - 2.0. You maybe adding to much volts. Try 1.92 unless you know the spec's
Put your system setup and settings in your sig. You can't become an official member till you do. Update the Nvidia chipset drivers ( link is on page 92 ) The NB on this board can reach 60c. Put your finger on the NB and see how long you can hold it there. Get some extra cooling 45c MB temps is high. Where do you live in the desert

Put your voltage settings in your sig. If you have the same ram or setup it will help others. Thanks

Looks like a nice motherboard except for one thing. They used a VIA firewire controller instead of Texas Instruments. I don't understand that.

hey everyone, sorry i havent had time to check back here more often, work's just been crazy busy this past month.

anyways, i've recently gotten a E6600 to replace the E6300 i had, which was oc'ed to 430/1860 for a 3.0ghz overclock, prior to and after bios flash everything was functional and stable. after i popped in the e6600, i'm having some trouble with oc'ing. currently i'm stuck on 400/1400 for a 3.15ghz, with all voltage settings on auto and memory at 5-5-5-15-2t (1t is still no-go whether in yellow or black slots, but yellow actually seemed more stable after the flash). i'd like to hit 400/1600 for 800mhz 1:1 and a nice 3.6ghz oc.

judging by the reviews on this board i've read, 400/1600 shouldnt be an issue at all, has anyone here had any experience with oc'ing the e6600, i noticed my vcore as read by cpuz is much higher than what it was for the e6300.

I can't hit 800/1600 stable without putting the core voltage well over 1.5v. I'm running 3510 at 1.49, and that's probly where I'll stay for day to day stuff. So sadly my ram isn't even running at full speed as you hit the 1:1 divider just before 3.5ghz. Hoping to change that sometime. Maybe by dropping the multi and running 1:1 up to around 430-450ish, hopefully without having to loosen timings.
