My first problem with stability just arrived. Last night and this morning I had two random crashed. One was the computer freezing and the 2nd one this morning I had a BSOD. It said something of "PSL Pool" and after that it rebooted. I could run 3DMark2003 for hours together with Orthos without problems. My Wireless USB mouse had run out of batteries so I plugged my corded mouse into my USB hub. I had my logitech usb headset, wireless receiver for my keyboard and mouse and then I added corded Logitech mouse on the same hub.
I wonder if any of you guys had problems with USB stability issues?
You know thats funny you mention that because when I push past 3.3ghz I run two instances of orthos for like a half hour and all is well. I can navigate through the start button and open programs during this using my keyboard, then the second I move my mouse (logitech mx510 on usb) my computer resets... I've done this several times... opening programs with keyboard etc and trying to crash the system and all is well till i touch the damn mouse. Maybe I should use an adapter on ps2 port???
What handles the usb ports? the sb? perhaps the sb is hot and needs to be cooled? maybe that would help... prob not... let me know if you try an adapter on the ps2 port for your mouse and it cures your problems. I will do the same.
I'm gonna bring out my old trusty Keytronic and put the MX500 on the PS2 connector and. USB is controlled by SB. Need to cool it somehow. I don't want to epoxy it.
