I am curious what other heroes they had, to send Mirana and Snipe to the same lane. Unless they had more priority farmers than either, I don't think they should lane together.

That's not the worst I've seen. I once played with a pair, I think they were BFFs or something. They insisted they lane together, and then they got a Medusa and a FV.

Please. I got laned with a Bristleback who told me to go support as Juggernaut.

EDIT: I was the only hard carry viable hero in the game.

Just as an FYI, Prelim match Quantic vs Rattlesnake started a couple hours ago. Rattlesnake is currently 2-1 up.

Please. I got laned with a Bristleback who told me to go support as Juggernaut.

EDIT: I was the only hard carry viable hero in the game.

What about a FV who demanded to go solo offlane then bitched at us the whole game for not supporting him properly when he died heaps and fed the enemy carry a ton of kills?

What a stupid stupid draft from Quantic.

Weaver vs 0 stuns? From minute 0, I knew Weaver would just bully all over the place. AND Storm too.

That's some pub level drafting.

And game 3... lol:

The entire Dota 2 community facepalmed. And the boar stun meme is in full swing in reddit.

Who the hell picked OD vs OD?

It's the most dumbest 1v1. It's hardly skill oriented- entirely dependent on the Essence Aura proc'ing.

23 minutes and OD vs OD is still going... ZZZZZ.

Game ended in 30 mins.

[edit]

WR vs WR was under 3 mins LOL.

One got FB by shackle. Then the losser immediately TP'd and killed her back on her low hp. Then she died again after the tower hits- 2 deaths already. GG.

In response to the OP. This game also results in a ridiculous number of games that are UNBELIEVABLY ONE SIDED because of the nature of the game.

Typically, one person from either side will have a great number more kills than anyone else, because every time you DIE you lose money.

If you are on the losing side of one of these games, you will realize you have no chance at a comeback at around the 10 minute mark, at which point you will have to wait for approximately 20 to 50 more minutes to actually lose--with little to no hope of a comeback.

This game can be extremely tedious at times. As i have said many times before, even when i am the character blowing apart enemies with ridiculous ease, am i really having that much fun? Not overly.

One sided games are not fun.

In a Fistful of Tangoes there was QoP vs Puck. Took almost an hour per game.

Well, sometimes that's true. But the thing is that DotA is primarily about teamwork over individual skill. Even when you're behind by quite a lot, there's still the opportunity to come back and win the game, if only you'd just take it.

I appreciate that it's easy to make mistakes, and that it's those same mistakes that probably led one side to be ahead of the other in the first place. But when you're behind you have to think about why you're behind and how you can come back. If you've been AFK farming for 10 minutes and you're getting picked off one by one, maybe it's time to 5-man. If you're playing against a whole bunch of invis heroes and you've never bought dust before, maybe now's the time. If your Earthshaker is getting focused down before he can get an echoslam in, maybe you should protect him long enough for him to get his blink dagger so he can initiate properly.

There's also the fact that some line-ups are much more suited to early game than late game. Heroes like Medusa, Spectre, and Faceless Void need the space to farm up their items, whereas heroes (generally more support-ish heroes) like Lion or Spirit Breaker are stronger early and fall off late-game as everyone around them gets stronger. You have to play to your strengths. If you have a lineup that favours early game, you have to restrict the opponent and finish early, otherwise you'll get raped. If you have a lineup that favours late game, you have to stop that from happening and somehow give your carries space to farm. The fact that you're behind 10 minutes in is of no consequence; it would be expected. The important part is whether you keep giving your carries farm so that 20-30 minutes later they can 1v5 and carry for you, or whether you just lie down and let the opponent walk all over you.

This. I can't believe how many people (in pubs) don't know this.

If your hero has primarily targeted, high-damage skills with limited disable, you need to either A) shut down your opponents in the early game, B) farm like crazy so that there's a huge gold and level gap, or C) invest in disable items to support your team.

Some heroes are just naturally better in the late game, and the longer you draw the game out, the more of an advantage they will have. Often these are heroes that get bonuses to an attribute (e.g., Slark), or have passive abilities that give stun, life leach, evasion, critical strike, etc. so that they can use an item slot for something else.

Crystal Maiden is a perfect example. She can dish out a good amount of damage, but she's primarily an early and mid-game hero. If everyone is getting into their high teens and 20s with tier 4 and 5 items, she quickly falls behind.
