It was a matter of time until Alche right click everyone with BKB & Cleave (Gyro can't 1v1). And both NP and Naga could carry forever in late game + Refresher Magnus.

Couldn't they have countered Alch with Heaven's Halberd?

HH can't entirely encounter the beast that is late game Alche. HH comes into play only after BKB has worn off and if you're not destroyed by Reverse Polarity and BKB by then.

And what about NP and Naga all carrying later in the game if TL couldn't at least take 1 rax?

HH is just one item. BKB ignores Disarm in both ways- turning it on cancels Disarm. You can't even cast it if BKB is already on.

TL was SO smart.. so fucking smart to realize that taking 2 more rax would mean disaster for them. So they went directly for the throne. And it paid off handsomely.

I thought it was over for TL when for some reason, Weaver time lapsed after being swapped out out of the black hole by Venge. He still had aegis so he shouldn't just picked off Enigma in two or three hits instead of Time Lapsing which brought him in the middle of the enemy again to get stunned up. That almost cost them.

Yeah, they made a great decision to just go straight for throne. They knew Alke was a ticking time bomb close to being a huge problem. There were a few things I think they could have done better though. The Rosh fight where they lost the token, while they did end up winning the team fight, I think Clockwerk ulting and trapping Naga before she got into the pit to sleep them would have been much better. They had the river warded and could see them coming. Clockwerk could have trapped them long enough for the Token and Cheese to go out on this team.

It worked out for them in the end though. That was a great game. I think the BO1 Lower Bracket has had some of the best matches. The desperation really makes teams go for crazy picks and more risky plays.

eSports is just not as developed in US. It suffers from the most amount of nerd stigma compared to Asian and Europe.

The eSports in Asia is a given, but Europe is also AMAZING. Same 'western' people but entirely different mindset of eSports than US. There are so many barcrafts, tourney, and events for games in Europe.

So it boils down to 2 things why US sucks at pro gaming:

1. The sheer lack of players and the resulting pro players from it due to the stigma.

2. This results in the sparse landscape of eSports sponsors and events (see #1), so pros aren't full-time paid whereas in Asia/Europe you can make a career out of it.

Therefore the American pro gamers have to get creative with sponsors, individual streaming ad revenue, youtube revenue, etc... This is really bad compared to Asia/Europe where they get guarantee salary and just play the game as its their job.

I think it will change soon as streaming live events online becomes more and more popular.

The reason why eSports is not as popular in the United States is due to the fact that a single game/match may have to be watched continously without interuption - which does not allow for commercial/sponsor interuptions on over the air/cable TV similar to a Soccer match. Sports like American Football and Basketball is popular because they have "Commercial Time outs" to allow for paid advertisers to show their commercials.

As for DOTA 2 team (eSports) sponsorships, we may be looking to sponsor one ourselves... :awe:

Uh what game were you watching? No Weaver in the game we've been talking about.

Oops, I was thinking back to DK vs IG, when we were talking about the super long game that went nowhere for a while. IG almost lost it there with their Weaver by Roshan.

Zoey's voice is the perfect middle between Lina and WR's.

And WR's pain sound/noises are exact same as Zoey.

I haven't heard those characters. I love Zoey's voice though, it's perfect in that game. I'll have to YT the others when I get home.

Why do they have to have matches while I'm at work... What a bunch of crap!

At least the finals are this weekend. HoN loves to run tournament finals in the middle of the week, at like 1PM...

I don't understand DK's decision to farm up for buy back at all. NP is out of bb and so is AM. That's the best time to storm down mid and fight. Sure, if they lose this fight, they lose the game, but they will also lose the game slowly defending their base with two lanes of rax down. They should had went down mid with DS's ult and force a team fight. Winner takes game.

They wouldn't have got there, it would have been a replay of [A] vs LGD. The lanes were all pushed with mega creeps, and AdmiralBulldog and Loda could have just TP'd into base to go for throne, whereas DK would have had to walk and push out the lane as they go.

Don't die?

If you get a lead, you should get runes and start ganking side lanes. The beauty of TA is that you get a whole lot of damage from Meld and Refraction right from level 1, and level 6 doesn't add anything amazing - this means that you can start ganking well before night-time. You have no disables, and even the lvl 6 runes aren't really disables as such, but the damage kind of makes up for it.

Ok, basically what I've been doing in bot matches to get the hang of her

I think the Don't die can apply to all

Get 1 point in passive first for superior spill dmg laning. Max shield first for her imba damage and block instances. That's the whole point of TA. 1 point in rest early. Max passive last.

She should be 1-0-1 by level 2. And 4-1-1-1 by level 7 typically. 4-4-1-2 by level 11 typically.

Her traps give her amazing rune control you can place them in both spots. You WILL know where the rune is. Then

2 ways to build her:

Ganker snowball build (preferred): Wand, Bottle, Phase. Dagger asap. Dagger turns her into a different animal as she can use her Meld Strike is no longer limited by range. BKB asap afterward, so she can continue to bully around.

Because of her first skill (flat block and insane DPS), she's the most item independent ganker. Just rush that dagger with wand & phase. Desolator afterward for that insane -15 armor with Meld. Just don't be a noob and get BKB prior.

Hm, since you play against bots, I'll spell it out for you:

1. Outlane/harass the hell out of enemy mid with your spill damage from level 1.

2. Wear down enemy with your shield with her stupid dmg. Check runes every 2 mins.

3. Once you are 6, lay traps to rune spots + 3 in high-traffic areas (side ramps and mid before and after river for chain slow).

4. Turn on shield, pop trap, get into melee range and use Meld Strike, then continue to beat them up.

5. Later on it's: Turn on shield, lay/pop trap, dagger in, immediately meld strike, turn on Phase, continue to beat down. Repeat slow and dagger if not dead already.

Carry build (bad but can work in bad pubs and you need to semi-carry): Wand, Bottle, Treads/Phase, Manta, Butterfly, etc. She sacks her precious dagger for a steady DPS role instead. This is generally bad though. It's a subpar lazy way to play if you don't want to bother with Dagger & Phase micro.

TA is a mid game snowballing ganker, play the first way.

The only things to know about the shield are:

1. It blocks damage instances, not damage. Tanking creeps with it is a waste of mana.
2. The damage bonus and the damage block are separate, but both disappear when either runs out.

Thanks a bunch for the info and tips there Zeze. Much appreciated. I always play against bots first when I play a new hero. I hate when others play a hero they never played or barely ever played and screw the rest of the team over. So I at least learn what to do before I'll play against others

This mister nails it. She takes 0 damage from Lina's scepter ult. It's also wasted on few blows from creeps.

This makes her vulnerable and hard countered by damage-over-time heroes. Huskar's buffed Flaming Spear will melt that shield just with 1 attack. Veno destroys her 1v1 mid as well. Bat & Leshrac wreck her.

TA vs QoP is on even footing. QoP's DoT can be dodged with Meld since it comes out slow. It's a good test of skill for either hero.
