That's his bread & butter so I don't mind.

Icefrog has been buffing him over and over until he finally gets picked competitively. I like it.

He's really fun now in pubs too. The global armor is VERY frustrating to enemies when you clutch save them so many times. Also you can cast it on yourself, run in and bully harass. Retreat, repeat.

its all over ezlor and omni for me, everyone thinks i will armor them and save them, they all jump in and i can save only one. then they bitch about not giving them armor.

happens a lot with omni also, some1 c omni and he is like yeah now m gonna jump into towers at lvl 3, they forget omni has cds and needs mana, and he bought chick etc so no items

i like this roof but i think its 2nd spell pretty useless and should be reworked for better utility

Just played a very satisfying Treant just now because you mentioned him.

Crazy tower dives with level 4 armor at 7 mins. It's stupid OP this early. Offlane Mirana and I played godlike support with endless wards, sentries, & smokes.

It's not hard to play a carry role (my team's AM & CK). But it was Mirana and I really MVP'd to that victory. The enemy team's trashy Shadow Blades never saw the light of day. We were popping detection left and right.

Stout shield + Living Armor + Mek = near impossible to kill Treant. Very fun.

The game ended with only 1 tower down and all others with full HP. I healed the fvck out of the towers from near 0 hp. We quelled lots of enemy pushes even at tier 1 at 30 mins. It was one of those great team-play games.

Dota 2 is balanced with certain context for all heroes. If Treants gets ridiculous slow on TOP of AOE heal, it would be gamebreaking. It's fine as it is. I think his invis needs a tweak- it's near useless past level 1 or 2 at most.

This explains why I have been losing pub games when there is a decent Treant player on the other team... there were so many times I was one auto attack away from getting first blood or kill - then his global skill saved the hero just in time for his backup to arrive and I ended up being the hero being chased/killed.

I'm disappointed in this chests thing. I received a chest last night I had never seen before, the screen had a halo around it, and the key for it was purple, so I figured must be some awesome item. Paid the $2.50 and the item within was uncommon.

Yeah, I bought $5 worth of Valve Bucks or whatever the money is called and bought a single key. Items were garbage. I still have the other $2.50 waiting. =(

I have only ever opened one chest, with a key given from a friend, and got an unusual mythical courier drake worth something like 12 keys.

Don't plan to open any more, but it was cool to get.

I've spent $10 on dota 2 for the compendium so far, and that is all.

OK that's it - I'm playing Treant tonight!
Treant's really fun to play, it's cool knowing you're making the game just that little bit more annoying for the enemy. Tower at 200hp? No problem. Teammate getting a bit low in a teamfight? No problem. Enemy ust wandering around in a group looking for a hero to pick off? No problem.

As we know, mid 1v1 dictates a lot for the rest of the game. Your ally having trouble mid? Perma-heal the fvck out of that guy until he can out-bitchslap the enemy.

He wins mid, then ganks for you. You know you made the difference.

I was laning with an AM who didn't really know what he was doing, so I was more focused on healing him than healing mid. Our mid wasn't really having much trouble, but our long lane was also taking a lot of harass so I think I definitely helped out there.

just saw an insane pushing strategy, it took 8 minutes to destroy a racks, and GG...

the drafting took more time

Pretty awesome. Lesh and Furion is one thing, but Pugna with his newly buffed Nether Blast that clears all creeps and deal 50% dmg to buildings is crazy.

The enemy team really drafted like inexperienced fools. The push line-up is obvious as hell and a single Keeper of the Light or ES would've halted the whole thing.

They banned KOTL, but the other team should've gotten an ES at least... i'm just surprised this happened in a pro game...D:

Why did they pick Pudge? He's not dendi. He was shut down so hard and it was essentially 4v5.

i didn't watch the replay but i think against Lesh, Furion and Pugna, pudge was good pick.
if he hooks any one of them into his team or splits him from his team that guy dies in 3 secs.
maybe due to pressure created by the other team their movements where not as good as they should be.

I don't think they planned on Pudge losing the lane so badly. He's not Dendi, but then, I wouldn't really have picked Pugna to win that lane so hard. The first time Pugna killed Pudge, he was left with 5hp. If that Pudge had been left standing with 5hp with a first blood on Pugna, there is no way they would have gotten a 10-minute rax IMO. They were so dominant after that partly because there was no followup to Pudge hook - he was so underleveled compared to Pugna, had no dismember, and Pugna could just lifesteal him to death.

Pro DOTA 2 Team got DQ and Banned from EMS One for using a smurf account in a DOTA 2 Tournament:

http://www.dotacinema.com/news/kaipi-disqualified-from-ems-one

Kaipi has been found to have been in violation of EMS One's regional player restriction and has been removed from RaidCall EMS One Summer 2013. EMS One Americas requires that a minimum of 3 out of 5 players reside in North or South America to harbor growth of the scene and deal with lag issues. Due to Kaipi's standard roster not fitting this requirement, they registered with a stand in player (Lust from Canada). According to EMS One's rule set, Kaipi was required to field a majority American roster throughout the qualifying cups and group stage. However, we recently became aware that Kaipi has been using Lust's account as a smurf for Romanian player bOne7 (actual Kaipi member from Europe).

bOne7 and Lust shared accounts in the semi finals, final and other matches throughout the season. While EMS One admins and management were aware of the allegations before the finals against team Evil Geniuses, the match was allowed to proceed to gather further evidence, including Lust's account pinging 200ms+ consistently across 3 games to US East during their games against EG. Kaipi has since admitted that they were in fact using bOne7 on Lust's account.

Action has been taken against the two directly involved players as well as EternalEnVy for disrupting the nature of the competition, voiding the RaidCall EMS One Americas final and orchestrating an effort to undermine the residency rules in place. EternalEnVy eventually admitted to the accusations in the face of evidence.

Punishments
Kaipi: Kaipi's team license has been revoked for RaidCall EMS One Summer 2013 and Fall 2013. This ban will be upheld as long at least three current Kaipi players are registered together (even under another organization).

bOne7: bOne7 has been banned from Summer 2013 and Fall 2013. This means, whether or not he plays for Kaipi in the Fall EMS Season he will be ineligible to compete.

Lust: Lust has been banned from Summer 2013 and Fall 2013. This means, whether or not he plays for Kaipi in the Fall EMS Season he will be ineligible to compete.

EternalEnVy: EternalEnVy has been banned for two cups in Fall 2013. If EternalEnvy were to leave Kaipi and join another team, he would be prevented from playing the first two cups of Fall 2013.

Evil Geniuses has been awarded a default win from the final and will compete in Poland this Summer at the DOTA2 Finals.

We regret this incident. Here at ESL, we value fair competition above all else and are disappointed that the team of Kaipi has neglected our rules in the way they did.

One of my worst games and still won! We only had 27 kills vs the other team's 49 kills:

So I finally gave Skywrath Mage a whirl for the first time last night. Why the hell is that hero so strong and easy to play? It's ridiculous. At first I thought conc shot was something you had to line up and fired in a straight line... nope! Auto-seeking and you don't even have to target a hero (the latter part can be a disadvantage). The magic resistance debuff / silence combo is also two really strong effects to put on one skill. And of course his ult is absurdly strong, and not only does it obviously synergize with Magic Seal, it works really well with soooo many other teammates' abilities. I had a Pugna on my team for this game and that was obviously about the most absurd combo there is for him.

Frankly, I'm a little disturbed that these high power low skill abilities seem to be creeping into the game so much. Slark is another good example, invis + regen + you can keep auto-attacking your target? And I'm still not convinced the tree's global heal needs to be that good. The original DotA Treant was plenty strong back when he had regular living armor and eyes in the forest. I'm not sure eyes still need to be in the game, but I'm finding in DotA2 the balance pendulum is often just swinging too far.

Well, you just gotta look at the competitive scene to see if something is too good or overpowered.

- Skywrath hasn't performed well by the pros. His lack of stuns are bad and slows are just not good enough- long CD and even longer when you're busy leveling maxing other 2 first. He's very squishy and needs SOME farm to be effective. He's outranked by better heroes doing same role- Lion, SD, Venge, Io, Rubick, Disruptor, etc.

- Slark is not good at all. Even in pubs, he's hard countered by a SINGLE sentry ward- even if he's very fed. He can't dispel it like dust and Slark just becomes a bumbling fool until he gets BKB. Later on he can't hard-carry like other real carries.

SM was picked few times in the pro scene since he was allowed in -cm. The result was lukewarm to bad. Slark is largely ignored.

Currently the kings of pro scenes are:

1. Batrider = ridiculous AOE slow & turnrate, insane AOE Firefly damage, unmatched initiation with Blink Dagger + Lasso that goes through BKB.

2. Shadow Demon = Disruption puts someone in place for a perfect combo/perma stun. You can also escape with it. You can also anti-carry with it since it creates 2 images of enemy or ally. Too good. Amp damage is outright scary and ultimate is amazing.

3. Io = Amazing global gankability and constant stun/escapes. Suddenly turns 2v2 fights into 4v2 with his ultimate.

4. Jakiro = The current Ice Path is amazing, all of his skills are. Beefy as hell with zero items, also spells are cheap. He literally needs nothing and wreck havoc for the team.

5. Lina = Great burst hero and AOE stun is rage-inducing when you can double or triple stun enemies.

6. Windrunner (scroll half way to read).

7. Nyx Assassin = All 4 spells are amazing. Enough said.

8. Clockwerk has been rising in popularity due to cog buffs.

So on and so on.

The favored carries are Lone Druid, Gyro, Lifestealer, Void, PL, CK, DK, etc...

Well, that's part of the problem with DotA (not that it's worse than any other MOBA in this regard): there's a lot of heroes with grossly inconsistent viability in pub vs pro, and I feel like things have been getting worse in that regard. Careful play can shut down Slark, but really a sentry ward only locks down an area. This is why dust is so often preferred for everyone else. A Bounty Hunter can realize there's a ward in an area and book it before he's completely iced (remember, so many invis abilities have a speed buff component), even more-so in a pub when not all 5 heroes have stuns. Again, I agree Slark is terrible because his end game carry viability is pretty much non-existent, but the rate at which there is an early game runaway Slark effect in pubs by players of average competence is ridiculous because he's so easy to play. Phantom Lancer is another one of those heroes that has always annoyed me by how strong he is in pubs. I just think the heroes need to be designed a little more mindfully so we don't have all these OP pub, shitty pro heroes.

And yes, Shadow Demon is AMAZING. With amp damage you can lane with almost anyone and get kills.
