Battlefury on ES?! MOM on Lina?! Everything else I can understand just because they are winning and have Gold...but they are probably just trolling - otherwise they would be losing.

I didn't take a screenshot of Disruptor, because he was the only one that bought actual supporting items like mek, pipe, and force (only after I told him to, though). ES didn't even have a blink dagger.

I can understand why they thought it was necessary, SB wasn't a very hard carry compared to lifestealer and maybe they thought they needed more right-click damage given Puck and N'aix. But you could see in the late-game, there's a reason why supports support and carries carry. Earthshaker was still getting blown up by lifestealer, no contest, and if he'd gotten utility items it might have been better because he wouldn't have felt so sure about manfighting a 6-slotted lifestealer. And the screenshots don't even tell the worst of it. ES got a Radiance and Lina got a Deso.

We lost in the end. I couldn't figure out a good final set of items for Tinker. I bought a bloodstone, but that still didn't provide enough mana regen like I thought it would. I tried going double dagon as well, that doesn't work either. In the end I went e-blade dagon, not sure what would have worked better. I didn't use the ethereal blade as much as I'd hoped I would, cause 6 active items + 4 active abilities got me really confused over my hotkeys at times.

In the end we got mega-creeps and we were so close to winning, but we lost a teamfight and they came down mid. I bought back, fed like a retard, and that was gg.

Wow! I thought you guys were winning too based on the Kill ratio!

EDIT: I just saw what the other team consists of Warlock + Puck + Dark Seer + Axe = Quad Wombo Combo!

I think you should have gotten a manta style and played the split push game or something, I dunno. Honestly once the game got past 40min or so your time lost most of its effectiveness, especially with your supports item choices. Also, I think blink is like 100 times more effective than force staff. it allows you to play much more aggressive, as well as allows you bot onto a creepwave, blink into the trees and march of machines quite safely as well.

I normally get a blink dagger too, but I tried this match and between Ion Shell, Warlock ulti, and Axe there was just way too much DoT to use it when it really mattered.

I was considering necro just for the split push, would that have been a good item choice?

Do you think I should have come to fights more? I never got the hang of the balance between split-push and joining teamfights.

Honestly, it looked like you got an early lead, which makes sense given your team comp, then your supports just decided to farm a bunch and build useless items. Once you got past like 40min I don't see a way your team could have won a teamfight.

The only thing I could see working would been using charge and BOT gank someone and then try to push the base off of that kill. If Lina and ES got a necobrook or something useful you could have prob pushed high ground

Not sure what you could have really done, their team is a pain in the ass for a tinker because if you are out of position by just a tiny bit your not going to have a good time. Your team just had really bad farm distribution imo.

I dun get it...

What's DK going to do with nobody but BurNIng? I heard talk of Sylar joining as carry with BurNIng playing mid or solo, but that just doesn't seem to have quite the same allure.

Get new members? Most teams have back up members for rosters... but its like every other sports - if you didn't meet your expectations or win the International, make changes...

I didn't realize the tutorial had been expanded. When I first did it, it was only the first two missions. Been working my way through that to familiarize myself with the various guys. Not a bad way to learn the various champs.

New personal rule, no more DOTA after 10 PM Pacific time.
Either that or I am truly being stuck in with the lowest of the low brackets...

If you ever have the day off, don't play Dota before like 5PM Eastern. I am plagued by people who random then leave immediately during those times. I stayed home a few times from work and thought "oh, I'll just get in a quick game of Dota while I wait for a response to this email" and it lasts all of 5 minutes because someone leaves and then when they are gone, everyone else leaves immediately as well. =(

Yeah this happened to me last night; "one more game" at 10:20 PM, ended up playing an hour and a half long game. Thought I was going to lose, ended up winning by rushing their base while they were rushing ours at the same time.

Games like those can be fun. The ones I end up in seem to be with Asian players, who play Asian DOTA, wipe the other team and then run off into the jungle and farm instead of pushing. Without having a hard carry.
So the first half of the game is fun then the other team's carries get farmed because the team I'm on won't push and then we get stomped into the ground.
Either that or the All Random picker hates my me. A team with zero carries and no one re-picks.
My win percentage is slowly dropping, even when I play well it usually isn't enough to carry a team.

I wish my team would actually participate in a base race. Even when it is obvious we need to throne to win, we always have 1 or two running around afk in the jungle playing WoW or something...

Just looked up my first ever game of Dota 2:

http://dotabuff.com/matches/81084195

I'm thinking that however bad I am now, I was probably about 1000x worse then.

I was so noob I didn't know how to use the shop. And I played an ursa, a hero with so many holes that have to be patched with items...

My first game is too sad to look at... All I heard during the whole game was - please go play bots for awhile before going into more public games, alot of raging at me, etc... and my team mates were my OWN FRIENDS, they invited me to play with them!! But, now I'm better than most of them...:awe:

I could already guess the hero I played in my first game: Pugna. (because he was one of my favorites yet was never ported into HoN)

I ran around with a dagon and scepter. Went 5-6 and won... not a terrible start.

I did the opposite. I picked a HoN hero (Venomancer), went Mjlornir then Dagon and proceeded to put the rape down. The guy mid against me apparently had no clue about Venomancer's poison. I killed him at least 4 times before the 8 minute mark.

I played my only game ever in Dota 1 around 4 years back. Played Pugna, chose him purely cause of his starting stats - he was an Int hero, he was ranged, and he had the highest starting attack range. Didn't really realise at the time that he's actually kind of hard to play cause he's about as squishy as a paper bag.
