Well, i got my topper from ebay, a 3" one, it is pink and rolled up really tight when i got it. when i open it up it smelled really bad for about 3 days.

I acually dont have a groove yet, but from what i have read and seen, it will get a groove in about a year or so.

also, from what i understand, all the foam pillows are made from polyurethane form. The only thing different is how the foam is made. tempurpedic has a "secret" way of making it and thats what makes them the best.
I think sensus has some sort of super vacuum or something. the cheaper foam pillows have more air in them, thus they are less dense.

~RaNDoM

Did you buy your topper from the same place (the-mattress) that Gnuyen (post above) did? Here is the link to that site:
the mattress

Just curious as he changed his storefront name in December 2003 and that is where most of the feedback comes after...

Only bought from one Ebay seller and it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth after several years of mouthwash.

no, but i checked out one of "the matress" auctions for pillows and his pillows looks exactly like my sensus pillow, some shape, color of foarm and even same white terry cloth.

also, the bed toppers looks the same too.

i wonder why he doesnt advertise it is sensus. trying to fool normal ppl it is tempur-pedic i guess.

Alot of people dont like these pillows. I have let many of my friends use my real tempur-pedic when they crash the night at my home and they dont like it at all. they say it is too hard. Its not the cold weather either, i like in sunny Florida. but ALOT of people love these pillows, like parents dont know how they even slept without them. But then again, i have watched alot of MTV cribs, and not one of them have any tempur-pedic products. i say, if u never really notice any discomfort in sleeping, then why change? ~RaNDoM

It's good you like these pillows, but I'll bet most of the people on MTV cribs have nice expensive goose down pillows if they are not allergic to them. They cost more than Temper-Pedic, but damn are they nice. You just need to fluff them up once in a while.

Yeah, I bought a decent foam pillow several years back, hated it after a couple months.

Personally I would never go back to straight foam. I bought a nice down pillow and a foam core surrounded by down pillow, and alternate between both. The down surrounding the foam is kind of nice, except the pillow gets a bit lumpy - the down settles very easily around the core.

Too much information!!!!!

I am going to buy a memory foam mattress. I am cheap so I want a good price. My wife likes the big brand name and wants TempurPedic.

I would just a soon buy from Marks1/2, foambymail, or the-matress on ebay. My only concern is are these side dealers selling drastically inferior products and/or offering less customer service.

I have been reading this thread on and off over it's life span. I have a JC Penny clearance sale memory foam pillow and love it. Now I want to do the whole bed thing.

When I get my mattress I will give a complete review at time of arrival and again after time sleeping it. I only hope that will help others choose.

I got the tempurpedic after trying out some of the different ones in stores-
  • Like Lady Americanna (didn't like the quilted tops),
Tried one other name brand (too soft)
I went to a foam factory
    • They made quilted tops( again too soft)
They had a very tempurpedic like one that they did not make but only $100 less
I learned that the firm ones use high density latex as the bottom layer not just latex foam.
I love the tempurpedic matress

If you like the quilt tops buy on line the prices are so much better.
IMHO If you want the tempur pedic feel spend the money, its worth it.

One Compaint:
Just too much room as we got the king. Now I have to search to find my wife, sometimes we are so far apart.

Anyone ever hear of a place called The Mattress Co.?

They're based here in Phoenix and their foam mattresses are apparently much cheaper than the national brands.
I'm going in Monday to see so I'll report on it here.

i'm in quick need of looking for a bday gift for my gf... so i need some help plz

i'm considering the brookstone tempurpedic pillow for $99...

is there any other retailer that would sell the pillow of same or better quality elsewhere for a cheaper price?

also is it pretty much agreed upon that the brookstone pillow has the best quality ?

My spouse stated that her BBB pillow was getting Alzheimer?s. Might be time to find another one before this one gets lost one day.

this thread rocks...i got a sensus pillow from ebay off of a link on this thread last summer and been very pleased ever since.

one thing though...how do you wash the thing? my pillow didn't come with care instructions or anything...so I don't know how to clean it...stick it in the washing machine? rub some soap on it? silly question perhaps, but I'd like an answer

Wow, great post. I've gone through quite a bit of the recent posts but still haven't made up my mind.

I have to get a whole new bed in Queen so now I'm debating about which bed to buy.

I know foambymail or Foam Factory in ebay has received a lot of good remarks on their product and service but I have a couple questions about it. It seems that a lot of people on here are getting the 5.3lb mattress pad and referring to them as "sensus" when they actually not? They state that they're manufactured by them(Foam Factory). So my question is, how is the quality of the generic(Foam Factory) 5.3lb mattress pad compared to the genuine 5.0lb Sensus mattress pad? Would I be better off sticking with the name brand and not really knowing the 0.3lb differnce or would it be better to get the 5.3lb pad?
I'll probably get 2 2" mattress pads and put them together and save money compared to buying a 4" pad. A couple people seem to be doing that to great success. Would there be a real big difference between 3" or 4"?

Since I'm getting a whole new bed set, I was debating on whether to just get some moderatley priced firm bed at like Sams or Costco and sticking the pads on top of that. Or buying a firm foam pad like the one somebody linked to at JC Penny's and then getting some cheapo box spring somewhere. foambymail(Foam Factory) also has a mattress kit which includes a 3" 5.0lb Sensus topper and a 5" 2.8lb high density foam base with cover for $325 + $75 shipping which isn't too bad. Would the 3" 5.0lb sensu topper be sufficient here? Anybody have any thoughts that mattress kit and on what would be better?

There's a guy on ebay under the name brk_group(Complete Sleep Shop) that sells quite a bit of sensus memory foam products. They have mattresses ranging from 8" to 14" in height with pillowtop and some new reflex foam support thats supposed to be more durable? He has a couple complete mattress sets that right are around $600. Any thoughts on these as well?

For both those options I'd still need to get a base and box spring.
The only thing about ordering these complete mattresses is that they seem to be charging around $100 for shipping which almost kills the deal.
Thanks everybody for your input.

k, i just ordered the 5" jc penny extra firm support foam topper (to use as my base) and the 4" sensus 5lbs topper/9" terry cloth cover from mark's. ill post a review when i get them. i think im gonna put them on top of my box spring and try that out first, if i don't like it ill put a piece of plywood between the foam and boxspring and give that a whirl.

jcpenny has a coupon code that gives you 25% off ur order, so instead of ~$75 (including tax and shipping) it was only $55. the sensus topper and terry cloth from mark's were ~$250.

I just bought a new Tempur-Pedic Mattress and pillow set (Queen Size)...I went to the healthy back store, and they gave me 2 free tempur-pedic pillows and free shipping (a $150 value according to them, [more like $100, but still...]), for buying the queen size 8" tempur-pedic mattress....the cool thing about it, is that we just needed a 3/4" thick piece of plywood instead of a new boxspring to make the warranty valid (20 year warranty)...ended up paying about $1600 out the door including tax....they offered me 12 months financing for free (no interest on the finance)....

lets just say that the last 2 weeks I have slept like a baby....normally I'm tossing and turning all night, and wake up with a soar back/stiff neck...worth every penny IMO. When you're spending 1/4 to 1/3 of your life in bed, you best not skimp out on a mattress IMO

Does anyone have any experience with www.brandnamebeds4less.com? I found them on eBay and they claim to sell genuine Tempur-pedic products but for much less. I had a chance to review the site and found it educational enough to **maybe** give them a shot. I was hoping to find some previous knowledge of them first.

Anyone try out latex pillows? Latex is supposed to be cooler than memory foam and more durable. Amazon has Sealy Posturepedic standard size latex pillows for $24.99 and $29.99, free shipping over $25.00. These pillows are made by the Talalay process, which removes the proteins that cause some people to have allergic reactions to latex.
