There were some initial reports that the Memory Foam mattress pads were fantastic at first, but seemed to lose their feel after a few months..

Can anyone who bought a mattress pad from the Memory Foam Superstore or Mark's a few months ago comment on this? How are people liking their mattress pads 6 months later?

The pad doesn't look too good. It'sthat egg crate version with a lot of empty space. You'd bottom out on that for sure. My mattress pad, 3" thick and solid, supports me completely. I don't feel my mattress at all. My isotonic pillow does appear to have gotten softer. I've had it for several months. Of course, maybe I've just gotten used to it. Still verycomfy and my pillow of choice over down and the visco-elastic pillow that came with my pad. That pillow has a deeper head channel, a higher high spot and is stiffer. So the vermont store pad will give you more comfort but is no substitute for the solid 3" or 4" pads you get from the ebay merchants or their respective store fronts.

$2.95 shipping

Total $902.94

This was the best deal I found on a complete, shipped, name-brand memory foam bed.

So far, it's very comfortable.

This sounds like the best deal on a full brand name mattress to me also. Anyone else get this?
Isotonic seems to be the most reliable brand name from Carpenter. It least you know what you are getting.

I got my pillow and matress pad from the vermont store today. The pillow is Isotonic from Carpenter and the pad is from Carpenter as well. Haven't tried them out or slept on them. I might get another pad to add to one I just got.

Wow! This thread is still going?! I just wanted to say thanks! I've been sleeping better ever since I upgraded my bedware. I got the Nova Foam mattress from Costco and it is awesome. I wish I could afford the Temper Pedic one though. I also got a Nove pillow and it was ok, but it sucked compared to the real thing. So I got a Temper pillow for me and my gal and we love them. But beware, they suck when it's cold because they get hard as a rock!

I am another one who could not believe that this thread was still going.......doesnt anyone in here sleep? :Q

I cant help myself either when I see another post......I just have to read it!

Well, having bought a mattress topper and some pillows previously, when I saw this deal at Boscovs I went to the site and checked it out. The mattress pad has a 3 year warranty, so I went ahead and bought one. Then I looked around a little more, and they carry the NovaForm pillows which a lot of ATer's seem to like. They are shown as "Jumbo Size/Super Support" - whatever that means. I could not see the dimensions of the pillow nor how thick it was, but for $19.99 apiece I went for the deal. When I put them in the shopping basket and went to checkout, a discount of $2.00 showed up, so I got the pillows for $17.99. The pillows have a 10 year warranty!!!

I am sure this thread will still be going when I get them, so I will post my feelings as soon as they arrive. It would be really nice if the mattress pad is also made by NovaForm under the Ashley Cooper name, but with a 3 year warranty and a 30 day return policy I think my risk is minimal if I dont like them. We shall see!!

Can anyone comment on the density of the the Ashley Cooper brand? Would it be safe to assume that it is probably 3 pounds instead of the 4 pounds? Does anyone have one of these. The price is really tempting.

My order for a queen sized one shipped and it's supposedly a 15 pound package. If you can ascertain anything from that...

Not really- the mattess pad you're looking at is thin, there's people over @FW complaining that it's worthless. You need something thicker like the one mentioned previously for $60.

Okay, since I'm too lazy to read through 500+ messages and just found this thread, what is the general consensus of it? Which of the pillows and mattresses are worth a darn and which ones suck badly? I've been wanting to get one of these memory foam pillows, but the $100 pricetag has been holding me back. I'd love to have one of the mattresses/mattress pads too if I could find a good one.

To give credit where do, this was ripped from hot-de@ls.org/

Smart bargins has a king size mattress pad for $50 & pillows for $25.

Has anyone tried these yet? Shipping is a flat rate of 6.95

Have Fun!

You do realize 1.25 inch is too thin. However, it would would well if matched with a firmer 2" pad of visco-elastic. Tfhat's how they make the beds.

So if there are no recommendations on what specific products to get, are there any good guidelines? It seems that someone has recommended at least 3 inches of 4 lb foam? I know that I've tried out the Tempurpedic mattress on display at brookstone and it was awesome. But also not worth $2000 that I believe they wanted either. I've also tried the foam pillow at the selectcomfort store, but that's awfully expensive too at $100.

I rolled the dice and ordered the Alice Cooper topper at boscov's even though my conscience told me otherwise.

I wish I'd known about the Novaform contour pillow earlier though. $18 seems like a good bargain, but since my order is already processed, it's too late to modify.

Urgh, there's like 30 pages of these things on ebay and I've no idea what to look for. Someone should really summarize the info in this thread and put it on the first page. It would save people who come in late from ahving to spend about 2 hours+ reading through it. I wasn't able to get past the first page so far and I've been reading for quite awhile now. I could try to read faster, but then the info would pretty much go in one eye and out the other.
