I can't believe read this whole thread. Anyway, I bought my Tempur-Pedic pillow from Brookstone in Las Vegas 4 years. I still have it and still loving it. What I've noticed is that my old pillow is more dense than the one my sister bought recently from Brookstone.
It would be worthwhile to know if the pillow your sister bought recently at Brookstone was also a Tempur-Pedic - or some other brand?

Linens N' Things has a sale, online and otherwise, Buy one pillow get one 50% off. There's also a 20% off any one item at the chubster floatin' around.
Linens has a tempurpedic pillow for $100 x2 = $200 - $50 - $20 = $130 + $10 for tax = $140. If you live in WY, SD, IA, or Alaska there is no tax, making it all the more sweet. So...does anybody want to get down on a Tempur-pedic deal with me? And if so, do you happen to live in one of the 4 states above? If not, that's cool too, i'd like a Tempur-pedic for $70...is that a good deal?

so i'm a college student and i just spent awhile going through this thread..
i'm looking for a mattress topper to top my dorm mattress (which is just maybe about 6" of firm foam)
seems like i'll be going for the sensus 5.3
i was wondering if i should just try 2" first and see if i want to buy another 2" later?
and if there is the sensus 5.3 in a twin XL?? (it seems expensive to buy a queen one and cut it down to size. will the 5" make a difference really?)

sorry about the double post. don't post much here.
xcoldricex--- thanks to your comment, i just spent the last hr reassuring myself that the density ratings listed are approximations. if you do a fleabay search for (in my case) "cal king sensus memory foam" in the completed items you will notice that all of the latest foambymail listings now show 5.0 density instead of 5.3lb (looks like listings after 9/8 had the change). You'll also notice that the prices for the same sizes/thicknesses are the same for the 5.0 or 5.3 foam---therefore must be same foam just different marketing. my guess is someone (competitor) gave them a hard time for specking the 5.3 density instead of the standard 5.0 everyone else selling sensus seems to be using.
If I've got it all wrong someone please correct me.
i'm debating a 3 or 4" 5lb sensus topper for our worn out simmons. where can i go to try out a sensus foam mattress or topper in person before i buy? thnx

I saw costco sells Topper from Nova brand now (before only pillow). The topper is 2" thick and only 4lbs denisty, King CA for $129 and Queen goes for $109.
Now my questions, Is this a good topper to buy? How much of quality different between 4lb and 5.3lb? I am only 160lbs weight, should I goes with something thicker?

Yes, I too noticed the change in density and wondered to myself the reason for it. I doubt this change makes any difference in the quality of the product.

I just received an email from Boscov's Department Store (Boscovs.com - click on home, bedroom, pillows/mattress pads/page 5 - I tried to create a link, but it no workie for me). They are having a sale on Novaform mattress pads (twin, full, queen). $19.99 for any size and $8.95 shipping for any quantity. These pads will never be confused with the Sensus pads but if you are suffering from that not-so-rare Asian disease (funds-R-low) this might be a good time to buy two, three or four of them. I bought one of these quite a while ago, and if memory serves these are 1 1/2 inches thick. I dont know the density but I would guess its probably 3lbs. For the money I thought the pad was pretty good.
If you are thiniking about buying more than two of these pads, keep in mind that you will reach a point of diminishing returns if you buy too many of them. There is some sort of mathematical formula that can be used to figure this out, but I dont have any idea what that is. I am sure that two pads would work better than one, but the question after that is would three pads be better than two and/or would four pads be better than three? At some point one more pad would turn out to be useless.
Anyone here have any idea on how to figure this out? This information might help some people decide if they want to try and use three or four of them.
p.s. I have had quite a few dealings with foambymail and if I were going to buy a Sensus product - based upon my experience with them - I would definitely go with foambymail.
