Had a taste for 'Burnt Orange', today...

I love working with Orange. Hardest color, of them all, to get right!

Looks good Vin, I like the orange :^) I never especially liked orange in the past, but Ubuntu is actually what converted me. The old brown and orange scheme is still my favorite, and it's opened me up to orange elsewhere in my life.

My desk is basically the same. I'm kind of in a rut. I need to fool around with conky more, and see if I can get something interesting to look at. I have most of the information I want, but it's a pretty basic display. I need to make it more interesting to look at.

I've always loved "orange", but it has to be a very specific shade of orange. Persimmon orange, so called, comes close.

Anyway, I'm still playing around with various shades of orange -- trending toward red.

Google killed their Google Weather API service, so I had to come up with a new data source.

I'm using a combination of Conkywx (parser) & WU (Weather Underground) now...

I'm using Fedora17. I think I'm also the only person who doesn't hate gnome-shell. It's very nice once you get used to it. I was going to set up conky but I dont really care that much about monitoring and gnome-shell has its own monitoring extensions. When I get around to it it will probably just tail syslog or something like that. I don't like it too busy looking.
I've seriously considered offering VinDSL a few bucks just to write one for me, haha.

Heh! I like Gnome-Shell too!

I often use GS as a development tool, for tweaking Unity. Unity is just Gnome 3 on Crack.

BTW, my Conky script works the same in GS, as it does in Unity, LXDE, and so forth, and so on.

Mine? I don't remember where I got it. I think it came with a gtk theme, but I'm not sure. Here's my copy, and it has two versions. One is all blue, and the other which I'm using above, has a bit of color. On the shot above, I reduced the saturation and brightness. It's easy to do on the desktop with Xfce, but it can also be easily done in Gimp, or some other image manipulation program.

Here's how my desktop looks today -- Storm Clouds -- a sad day, really...

I say "sad day" because "testing" is officially done with Ubu 12.10, as of yesterday, October 18.

On October 25, the Ubu RR ToolChain will be uploaded, and it starts all over again, with Ubu 13.04.

WTF am I going to do for 6 days?!?!?!?

I guess I'll have to concentrate on publishing my latest Conky script(s) with the (now stable) Conkywx weather module (right side of desktop).

Sigh! I hate it, when things just work... :ninja:
